Hailey had survived two other girls death before she was the one that was there the longest, or that had been. She blinked and frowned looking down at the bag he set down. "Call me Hailey." she said and looked up at Agent Collins. She opened the bag and sorted through it her eyes calculating and her shoulders stiff. She closed the bag again and looked from him to the door. She stepped away from the table where she had shared the most intimate parts of her to complete strangers and felt if the table burned it still wouldn't be enough to calm the storm inside at the sight of it. She took a step towards the door watching Agent Collins to see if he would stop her. When he didn't she moved through the door and to the bathroom. She locked it with a hard click and stepped out of the borrowed clothes and picked something out of the bag that would fit better and be more comfortable. She knew she needed to clean up but as she looked at the sink it terrified her. She took a deep breath and turned on the water watching it spring from the faucet and she felt herself begin to shake. She clamped her teeth together took a paper towel and scrubbed her skin down mostly her face.
Once she was done she turned off the water and looked into her eyes in the mirror. The stark blue quivered and she turned from the image shoving on new
cloths leaving the other cloths in a pile on the counter. Hailey took another moment to compose herself and stepped out seeing Agent Collins and handed him the bag back of things she wouldn't use. She was freshened up her face a little pink from the warm water she had cleaned up with. She wasn't wearing any makeup but her hair was combed with what was in the bag. Hailey looked around seeing several people watching her with what seemed like pity and she tried not to glare at them up instead walked over to the windows she knew where tinted so no one could see inside and stood there staring out completely still. Hailey didn't move again until she saw Makenzie. She walked over to her and tugged the blanket closer around her shoulders. "I'll be right here." she said and nodded to the bathroom she had used knowing Mackenzie would want to change as well. Hailey did stand there like she was guarding Mackenzie eyeing Cade suspiciously until he gave her a winning smile and to her credit she didn't completely roll her eyes before looking away.
Cade smiled softly as Mackenzie placed her hand in his even if nervously. It was a hopeful sign for sure. "Nice to meet you Kenzie." he said liking the way it rolled off his tongue. He watched her fidget and her eyes gaze over as her thoughts dragged her somewhere dark. "You hungry? We're going to go meet up with Hailey and my partner to get y'all some food. Come on let's get you to a bathroom to change." He stood and swept a hand slowly towards the door indicating she could go first. He wanted her to see she was in charge here.
Cade walked out of the room and down the hall spotting Hailey as she made a beeline for Mackenzie. He had to smile softly at her protective and nurturing nature. It was what likely had given her the courage to escape. He watched Mackenzie realizing that she must trust Hailey and it was a credit to both of them that bond that no one else could understand. He watched Hailey direct Mackenzie in essence telling her it was safe. He stood a little ways from the bathroom as Hailey stood much closer and he was just standing calm before looking over to catch Hailey all but glaring at him. He sent her a smile that would melt butter and she pursed her lips looking away just barely not rolling her eyes He would have chuckled but just smirked instead. Cade was laid back and easy going. He had a feeling he would win Hailey over easy but she would trust Blake more. He looked over at his partner who was doing as he always did, calculated and analyzed so he could be more effective. Cade had a feeling he met his match in Hailey. She seemed three steps ahead of Blake and it would be entertaining to watch him keep up for once. Cade looked over as the bathroom door opened and smiled kindly seeing Hailey watching him out of the corner of his eye. He slowly approached offering to take the bag from Mackenzie. "Alright let's hop in the
jeep." he said grinning. "Don't get too excited it's business style." he smiled lightly and then looked at Hazel who shook her head at him but had a hint of a smile on her puckered lips as she tried to keep her composure. Cade grinned over at Blake and nodded for him to lead the way. Blake was the better driver on long trips and they had at least a state to put behind them.
