He smiled as he walked back into the base. She was different from the others. He liked her.

Hannah smiled on her way home she fought a lot about Steve.

The next morning Annie found herself going for s walk by herself, she just wanted to be alone.

Steve was thinking about Hannah when he bumped into Annie, ‘I’m sorry...’

Annie fell backward falling on her butt, she looked up quickly getting to her feet. “It’s fine” she brushed him off before going to the kitchen.

He watched her as she left worried. She’s never been like that with him before. Did he do something wrong? Did something happen?

Annie in the garden and sighed softly, she wanted to paint but had no energy to do so.

The next couple days Annie watched Steve leave to go on dates with this Hanna woman. She was really nice and she even spoke to her about art and other stuff.

“I’ll talk to you later, “ she waved as she followed steve “so park and then what?”

‘We could go get something to eat from a nice cafe then go see a movie.’

Hannah smiles softly and kissed his cheek. “Sounds like a plan, let’s go.” It had been a couple weeks and Hannah and Steve really hit it off, they both loved the arts and we’re both in the military at some point in their lives. He was still a hero and she was a painter. She loved vintage stuff especially from the 40s, Steve definitely noticed that. Their first kiss was incredible she felt the spark, she was so sweet and understanding. She was helping him with Annie too, the girl was traumatized.

They at the cafe they usually came, “she’s doing better, she goes out on her own or with the girls, still doesn’t trust men. I mean I understand why she doesn’t ..”

‘Yeah I understand too but I’m curious. Before we were doing well. We talked but now she avoids me. I’m not sure why. I want to ask her but I don’t want to make her uncomfortable.’

Hannah rubber Steve’s hand gently, “I can ask her, though I doubt she’ll tell me, maybe Nat .. can, we’ll figure it out.” She took another bite of her sandwich before looking out the window.

‘Thankyou...she’s been a good friend to me and I like having her around. I’m sorry I don’t mean for you to think that I’m not interested in you. I meant purely as a friend with her.’

Hannah smiled softly, “I know Steve, Nat is also a good friend to you, I’m not gonna stop you from having women friends just because we’re dating.” She took a drink of her water. “She has been acting a bit weird around you.”

Hannah looked at him “Hmm, that’s very unlike her she must be going through something, I’d give her some space. For a little bit and have nat talk to her.”

Hannah snuggled up to Steve “how about we go to my place and just watch a movie and cuddle?”

Hannah held his arms as they walked “I’ve been working on a new piece for an art gallery I’ll have to show you when we get to my place.”
