The sky was starting to turn a dark blue as the night started to creep in. The later it got, the cooler it got as well. The wind started to pick up and lightly tossed Mia's hair as well. Sitting on the bench in front of the diner she worked at, Mia crossed her arms over her stomach and started to slowly rub her arms to keep warm. Her dad said he was going to pick her up from work, otherwise, she would have taken the bus. Except, he was supposed to pick her up almost an hour ago and it'll be another thirty minutes before the next bus came by this area.
The glowing lights of the diner flickered behind Mia and cast an eerie sort of glow over the area. It was closed, otherwise, she would have been more than happy to wait for her father inside. Bright green eyes looked down at her phone and Mia checked the time once more. It was nearing nine already. "Where are you?" She mumbled quietly as she glanced up once more. She felt gross and sweaty from working a double. Saturdays were usually the busiest and one of the other waitresses called in sick. So, even though it meant that Mia would be on her feet longer then she wanted, it meant more money for food for the next few days. As well as to give her dad to spend on whatever his current addiction was.
Putting her phone back into her pocket, Mia glanced up as a nice looking car pulled into the parkinglot of the old diner. "We're closed. Sorry." She called out to the man as she saw him stepping out. Then, her lips slowly started to turn into a frown. Her eyes narrowed a little bit and the hair on the back of her neck slowly started to stand on end. She recognised this guy. He was one of the men she saw her father sneaking money to a few times, but. Why was he here?
Slowly, Mia stood up from her spot on the bench as she watched the man. Her hands moving to smooth out the skirt of her work uniform for some reason. Her bottom lip moved between her teeth as she started to slowly naw on the soft flesh. "If, if you're looking for my dad. He's, he's not here. Sir." Mia said quietly, not sure how else to speak to this guy. He was a bad man, Mia knew that, he practically screamed it with just the look in his eyes. Slowly, Mia started to shake nervously. Something bad must of happaned if this guy's here.
