Maisie nodded a little and hummed in reply to his thoughts on what the sculpture actually represented, thinking that it was a decent explanation. "That makes sense. They still look like trees to me, though." She teased softly, before laughing as he announced that the sculpture was actually meant to represent the female body, finding his confused expression hilarious.

"You were nowhere close. At least I guessed a living thing." She laughed, looking at the sculpture for a few more moments before pointing out a few spots. "I can see how it represents a female body. Like the curves are sort of the outline, right? It's definitely abstract, but I can understand it." She shrugged, resting her head comfortably against his shoulder.

Feeling her head rest against his shoulder, Charles held her closer to him, a little smile coming across his face. He was enjoying the closeness. Though who knew how long Maisie would want to do that, especially when he told her how he felt. There was the chance that she would not feel the same, that saying something would only make it uncomfortable. Unfortunately, Charles was not going to know the outcome until he did it.

"I suppose I can see it... And it does seem like you get a point for being closer than me. Don't get too used to being ahead of me. You can catch up fast in this game." Charles chuckled at the thought as he moved onto the next sculpture. Unlike the last, this one used much color and was absolutely huge. He looked over it thoughtfully. "What time do you think we should head over to dinner? We wouldn't want to be late."

Maisie let a little smile form on her face as she felt Charles hold her closer to his side, her grip on the sleeve of his jacket tightening a bit as she settled into him. It was nice, being so close to him, and she knew she'd miss him terribly once he and his parents left. Hearing an older woman comment to her friend that they looked like an adorable couple she blushed, glancing up at Charles anxiously to see if he'd heard the comment too, hoping it didn't make things awkward.

She shook her head and laughed a little as he told her not to get used to being ahead, following him to the next abstract piece, althou she wasn't paying much attention to it, lost in the thought of them being a couple. She blinked up at him as his question about dinner pulled her from her thoughts, looking at the time on her phone before shrugging. "We probably have another thirty or so minutes before we need to leave in order to be early.. Maybe we should go to the gift shop? I still need to buy you your souvenir." She smiled, squeezing his arm, although after a few more minutes of gazing at the sculpture she glanced up at him again.

"What's going to happen if we don't get our parents to call off the marriage? Will.. Will we end up hating each other?" She was terrified he'd grow to resent her, especially if she told him how she really felt and he didn't feel the same.

Although Charles had heard the comment made by one of the women nearby, he tried his best not to react. Though in truth, he wanted to smile at the thought. He wanted them to actually be the cute couple that others pointed out. It was good to know that they already looked quite well together now he just needed to get them to the point where it was true that they were a couple. Hopefully by tonight that would be the case.

"Ah, so we have plenty of time then." Charles responded as he looked down at her. Though once he met her eyes, he wasn't able to hold back the large smile that was threatening to come along his face. She was just so... lovely. It was hard to keep his cool when she was so close to him, when she looked at him like that. But he was doing his best not to make things weird before Charles told her the truth. "And I definitely want to go to the gift shop and get that souvenir you promised me."

His eyes shifted back to the sculpture and he was able to explain what he thought it was when Maisie suddenly started talking. To hear the worry that she had been holding onto surprised the man and looked down at her, his eyebrows furrowing together. "I won't hate you. Will you hate me?" He asked, his heart suddenly freezing in his chest.
