Ailuin chuckled a bit as Aubrius brought up the box that the council tried to put him in and reminded him about how much she hated it, shaking his head a little as he squeezed her hands. "I know you hate the box, and I'm doing my best to get out of it, but not all battles are worth fighting. If I'm not strategic in what I push back against the council will just get even worse about things, and we don't want that." He said, wrapping his arms around her in a hug, squeezing her against his chest for a few moments before kissing her forehead and releasing her. He appreciated how much she cared for him and how she pushed for him to be himself, even if it meant pissing off the council to do so. She was so strong and brave, and he hoped that he could be have as strong and brave as her one day.
His eyes softened and he smiled at her adoringly as she blushed and told him to shut up after he complimented her, pressing a kiss to her cheek before brushing a stray strand of hair away from her face. "It's true, but I will shut up so you don't ruin the dressed trying to fight me about it." He teased softly, his smile brightening when she admitted that she didn't hate the dress nearly as much as she thought she would. That still meant that she probably hated it, but it was still a small miracle to hear her admit it. "I'm glad that you don't hate it, Aub, or at least that you don't hate it as much as you thought you would." He fell silent as she looked at him the way she always did when he was feeling bad, his arms wrapping back around her as she rested her forehead against his, letting out a little sigh as she apologized. "You shouldn't have to apologize, it's not your fault. They're all just.. I just don't understand why they think it's so crazy that I love you, that I'm your mate and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. There isn't anything crazy about that, not to me, anyway." He murmured, offering her a little smile as she said that she wished she could do something to help. "You staying at my side is all I need, Aub. The world could be falling apart around us, but as long as I have you I know that I'll be alright."
Bridris was watching Ramyth spread his soup across his slice of bread to eat it curiously before she'd asked her question, having started to pick up on some of Ramyth's strange eating habits. None of them were particularly outlandish or off-putting, some were just a little odd, like spreading soup on bread before you ate it. That didn't mean that she wasn't going to try it to see if it was any good. His blush and cheeky reply caught her off guard though, and her own face flushed red and she nearly dropped her spoon in her bowl, giving him a little look as she nudged his foot under the table. "You know that that's not what I meant, Ramyth." She scolded softly, knowing full well what they'd be doing on their wedding night. She nodded a little though as he began to speak about helping her to adjust becoming fae as she took a bite of her bread with the soup on it, letting out a pleasant hum at the taste before taking another one. She blushed again though as he mentioned the transformation potentially affecting the birth control Hanvosi had been kind enough to give her, looking down at her bowl for a few moments in thought before looking back up at him. "If it does mess with my birth control, would you want me to retake it?" She asked softly. They'd never really spoken about having children before beyond the brief mention of having a family five minutes earlier and when they'd gone to Hanvosi to get her birth control to avoid having any sickly children that wouldn't make it a year, but she knew that she wanted to have a family with Ramyth, and if it were true that it took a very long time for fae women to get pregnant, she figured that the sooner they started trying the better their chances would be, although she'd understand if he wanted to wait a few years so they could have each other to themselves.
