Joana was nervous, but she refused to show it. Her parents had told her to act natural, don’t believe awkward or nervous or it would drive away suitors, especially the Prince. When she heard his voice directed at her, and Jessica, Joana nodded. “Of course.” She said as she moved towards the doors, she knew exactly where her parents would be waited outside. She moved through the crowd and found them, smiling at the couple. “Come inside. There’s someone I want you to meet.” She told them and led her parents inside and towards Prince Louis. “Prince.” She said and smiled as Ashe ushered her parents over. “These are my parents, Joel and Amber Marquis.” she told him with a smile. Both of her parents were in awe, smiling at the Prince, fawning over him.

Louis smiled as she agreed, he began to wave a person over to go and fetch them, but stopped as she walked towards the door. He chuckled to himself, he would have to get used to her doing things for herself, if he picked her. He excused himself from the group and made his way back over towards Joana as she reappeared. He approached the couple and bowed, "Nice to meet you both," he said softly. He lent in and kissed Amber's cheek, before moving to shake Joel's hand.

"You have quite an amazing daughter, very humble," he said softly. He looked at Joana, then back at her parents. "May I ask, how you are enjoying your day?" he asked softly.

Joana was used to running around, doing errands, working. She did what she could to help her parents and had grown independent, while still very family oriented. Her parents were her world. If Prince Louis didn’t like her parents she knew she couldn’t be with him. She beamed with pride when her parents were speaking to the Prince.
Amber blushed and curtsied as the Prince kissed her cheek. “Oh pleasure to meet you Prince Louis.” She told him, her husband reiterating the statement.
Joel nodded and smiled. “She is a very wonderful young woman. We raised her right.” He said proudly and nodded. “We’ve been having a good day, just waiting and watching. Mingling with the crowds.” Joel told her. Joel looked like a man who worked hard and with his hands. He looked aged more than he was, had large calloused hands. But pride shone from his eyes when he spoke of his daughter.

Prince Louis nodded and listened to her parents, "She really is interesting," he said softly. He smiled at them both, noticing her fathers workman's hands. "Well I am glad you are enjoying the day, it is quite an event," he said softly. He still had his arm around Joana again, he smiled softly, "how would you both cope if I was to pick her," he asked curious. He didn't want her to be worrying about her parents all the time.

Joana was just smiling and nodding as Louis and her parents spoke. Though when she heard him mention the possibility of choosing her. Her cheeks turned bright red and her eyes widened. She was sure she had misheard him. But judging by her parents reactions she had heard right.
Her father had done well hiding the shock and excitement, but smiled politely at the prince. The family knew all of them would move up if she did. He could stop the manual labor, but he would also not see his daughter as often. “We’d support her. Be damn proud of her. Of course we would miss her sometimes, but as long as we weren’t completely out of the picture, we’d be happy.” He said and took his wife’s hand, squeezing her hand. Her mother nodded in agreement, beaming at both the Prince and her daughter.

Louis smiled softly and watched them interact, "well I'm glad you won't miss her too much, I mean she seems so interesting and full of life," he said softly. He pulled her closer, "I think I have found someone I want to get to know more," he said softly.

Joana looked up at Prince Louis, eyes wide and almost in shock. She couldn’t be sure she was hearing him. She was the one he was choosing, she put a hand on his chest as she looked up. “You’re choosing me?” She asked quietly, almost nervously but a smile pulled at her lips. Both of her parents smiled big and nodded, proud of their little girl.

Louis smiled and nodded softly, "Yeah guess I am, lets see where this goes," he said softly. He pulled her closer, "I'll leave you with your parents for a bit, come find me when you are ready," he said lightly.

Joana nodded and smiled, saying goodbye to Prince Louis for now. She watched him disappear into the crowd. She and her parents talk. Her parents excited and proud of her, while she was just in awe.

A little while later after she said goodbye to her parents, for now, she moved around the ballroom and looked for the Prince. Once she found him she made her way over end gentle touched his forearm. “Hey.” She said with a smile. “Are you going to make the announcement now?”

The Prince made his way around the room, meeting other people, and just mingling. He was happy, today had proven fruitful. He turned hearing her beside him, "yeah I think it is about time," he said. He paused for a second, "you understand how this whole thing works right?" he said. He didn't know if she realised he would be picking to woman today, and wanted to check she understood that.

Joana looked up at the prince. “I think so.” She said and chuckled softly. “There hasn’t been one for a while so I don’t know the small details.” She said nervously. Joana stepped back a bit as she looked around the room, looking between the people and feeling almost overwhelmed.

Louis smiled softly and nodded gently, "well, what happens from here, Is I pick two woman, to get to know better, and their families will move up in standing," he said softly. He pulled her close, "and then we spend some more time together over the next few months, for me to decide which one of the two I want to marry," he added

Joana nodded. She understood better. She knew they didn’t usually pick their permanent partner right away. She was still nervous though. She knew he was also choosing that beautiful upper class woman, end she didn’t think she stood as chance against her. But at least for now she could help her family out and they could spend the next few months preparing to go back down. “I’ll follow your lead, your highness.” She said and took his arm.

Louis smiled softly, "I'm glad you understand," he said softly. He pulled her close, "your family will move up, even If I don't pick you, so don't be too nervous," he said lightly. He kissed her cheek, "now lets go tell everyone," he said

Joana nodded, she locked her arm with his and looked up at the Prince. “Let’s go.” She said with a smile, following alongside the prince. She was doing her best to hide the nervousness inside her but she wasn’t sure if she was doing a good job at it

Louis smiled softly and kept his arm around her, he moved with her over to Jessica, and put his other arm around her. "Right, shall we let everyone know?" He asked.

He walked with them up to the front, he looked out at the crowd, "Afternoon, everyone, I hope you are all enjoying yourselves," he called. He continued on with the announcement, he wasn't the best public speaker, but he got it done.

Joana smiled up at the Prince. She looked over at Jessica on the opposite side of Louis and gave her a smile as well. She figured being petty or mean to her ‘competition’ wouldn’t help her at all.

Joana thought about how lucky she was, even if he didn’t pick her. She just hoped her friends and extended family didn’t abandon her for “moving up.” She also hoped that the upper class didn’t treat her like dirt as they had before.

Prince Louis was glad when the formal announcement was over. He pulled the two women close, and kissed each of their cheeks. He looked at them, "so would you like to stick around at the party, or shall we go get you settled in to the castle for now?" he asked them.

He secretly did, just want to get some time alone with them

Joana was tired of the social interaction today, she wasn’t much an an extra very so this event had taken her whole energy. When the prince said they could go back to the council she perked up. “Oh yea, that sounds nice.” She told him with a smile. “I think I’m all partied out.” She said and looked up at him. She looked at the crowd, many people shocked and whispering because one of his two women were of the lowest class. She tried to ignore it.

Louis smiled as Joana said she wanted to go to the castle. He looked at Jessica, "well I guess the castle it is," he said as Jessica concurred. He waved goodbye to the party, as they headed out the door.

Once at the Castle, Louis relaxed somewhat, "so I suppose we will have to work on getting you both settled in," he said lightly. He walked with them, up to the rooms, heading to Jessica's first.
