Seems like the two sides are taking their good old time and not rushing to get back at least most of a season. The first part of the proposal seemed simple and to the point, but then you get down to the other parts about free agency and whatnot and you can understand why it was rejected.

I'll just say this: Why could this not be the situation in the NBA or NFL? My life wouldn't be completely bland then because I couldn't care less about those criminal elements. Anyways, here's to hoping for an agreement soon. :/

Forgetting about the lockout for a sec, do any of you guys read hockey slash? Rachel, I think I know you do but like does anyone else? I joined Tumblr and became hooked on it. I can't write it myself but I love reading it. Kane/Gagner is my number one ship but obviously the mother of ships is Kane/Toews (there's even this thing called "Kesladd" and "Kesburrlooch"). Do any of you guys do that?

Anyone else read the latest on the CBA? Anyone else notice that Bettman basically lied, saying that the NHLPA offered no counter-proposals? And how a few graphs down Fehr mentioned the THREE proposals the PA offered that same day?

^^ I've never liked Bettman, no matter if it was a regular season or a lockout. To me, he's way too greedy and his position should be taken away and given to someone that would know how to handle the league. Up Until recently, I was staying on top of the CBA, but it's just too depressing. I read the occasional article, but not as diligently as before.

I don't read as frequently as I could because, yes, it is depressing. But I just so happened to click on that on and it pissed me off. He's a tool.

Couldn't agree with you more. Like the memes say, if I was in a room with Bettman, Hitler, and bin Laden with a gun and two bullets, I would shoot Bettman twice.

I'm sorry but this shit is just getting old. The only thing that is happening right now is damage to the league and the sport of hockey. It's time for both the NHL and the NHLPA to get their shit together and sit down and figure this out. There shouldn't have been federal mediators needed, let alone a lockout in itself.

Anyone hear the rumor about Ryan Miller wanting to walk out on the lockout talks? There were also pictures of Craig "Fucking" Adams leaving a hotel with his suitcase after the first day of talks.

So now we can actually use this forum for something other than bitching about the lockout. I'm looking forward to that.

Am I the only one that's slightly nervous about the ratification process? Part of me thinks that it might not go through, but then another part of me thinks that if it's good enough to be approved by Fehr AND Bettman, then it should be okay.

What about you guys? Are you guys as pumped as I am for the 60% of a season we get?

All I have to say is between the lockout ending and USA winning gold yesterday, this is a pretty good weekend for hockey!
