Baha. 4 posts in a row by me....

I'm sooo angry. It was an open net and Stastny got a hooking call and instead of a penalty they gave stupid ass edmonton a point. Seriously, wtf. That's not a goal that's a goddamn penalty. The NHL seriously needs to rethink some of their rules.

Also, Ovechkin isn't a sore loser and doesn't whine over everything.

    Crosby should be like..traded to the..LA Kings:shifty

You know, the Leafs aren't that bad. There's teams out there that a hell of a lot worse than them but because they don't have a huge fan base nobody cares.
It's kind of ironic how when their best player gets injured, they play better.
    Go figure, eh?

Toronto is so unpredictable, which pisses me off. I just hope they make it to the playoffs this year.

^ I noticed that too. They kept losing with Crosby and they lose him, they start winning. Honestly, I think they aren't trading him because he brings attention to the Pens.

Yay Colorado won after a really terrible loss ^.^

In order for the Leafs to make it, they need 5 points which means, they pretty much need to win their next 6 games. They play the Bruins twice in a row, Habs, Buffalo, Sens and Habs. Chances are, they won't be the Habs and if they do, it's a flippin miracle.

Hello!! Finally I found a forum I like, lol.

My fav team is the Washington Capitals. I also like the Minnesota Wild, but I'm from Minnesota so I have to like them, lol.

I agree Crosby is a baby and a whiner. And that all overshadows the elite skills he posseses. If he would stop all the childish bickering and acts, he would be looked upon as an elite athlete.

In my opinion, the Pens fail to play at their best when Crosby is in the lineup, because his teammates tend to fall too much on him. They sit back, and let Crosby try to win games for them. And when Crosby is out, they have no choice but to play as a team. And rely on each of their individual skills to win games. All the Pens need to become great, is a coach that is willing to look BEHOND Crosby, and see each players ability to contribute in order to win. Crosby's skills may make the team more exciting. But it's his teammates who can truly make Crosby, AND THE TEAM, look GREAT.

^The biggest thing that annoys me about Crosby is his stupid commercials. Especially the one for Gatorade, where it's a shoot-out between the Leafs and the Pens. The commercial ends with "every team needs a hero". What the hell ever happened to "There's no 'I' in 'team'" or teamwork? Now, you have all these teams, major league, OHL, AHL, Junior B, Junior A, Triple A teams trying to be the "hero" and it always costs them a game.

You can't beat the Pittsburgh Penguins. =]
    WOOT!

I cannot express how many people I know only started recently watching hockey because someone is hot. They don't know how the game is played.
I have a "friend" like that.
    I asked her, "What's a hat trick?"
She shrugged, but yet, she says, "OMG! I LOVE THE PENGUINS! JORDAN STAAL IS HOT!"
Sure, he's good looking but I like them how they play.

    Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Ruutu. =]

    But, I like Crosby.
    He's a good player, and I don't think he is a whiner.
He does lots of charity, and he's a real nice person.
Besides, he doesn't like to fight, maybe he just likes playing the game.

I don't have a problem with Crosby himself, I have a problem with the media attention on him. It's not just Crosby either, Pronger's another one. The rules seem to change depending on the name on the back of the jersey.

I got bored and looked up hockey fights, and I swear this is one of the best I've ever seen. Fights broke out during the whole game.

I smiled the entire time I watched it.

Has anybody seen the latest on the fighting controversy. According to the NEWS, Quebec Canada is trying to BAN fighting in junior hockey. And this isn't coming from the league itself, all of this is coming from the Canadian Government. And according to what I have read, the government is going to use tax dollars to conduct a study on fighting in junior hockey. My question is: Isn't there more pressing matters they can be spending tax dollars on?

And anyways, banning fighting in junior hockey won't take the fighting out of hockey. US College hockey has a ban on fighting. I've been to plenty of college hockey games, and guess what. There's still fighting in college hockey. The "NO FIGHTING" rule isn't useless though. It does control fighting. But it DOESN'T stop fighting all together.

    It won't stop the fighting.
There's no talerance for fighting in baseball, but you see if every now and then.
Plus, fighting is just apart of hockey. Take that away and you take part of the game away.

Well...this wouldn't really affect American junior hockey, but still. It would take away part of the game for all those Canadian junior players.

I don't think there's other things the Canadian tax dollars can go toward. Bertuzzi almost killed Moore by fighting, Roy beat the hell out of Nadeau who wasn't even fighting back and then fought another player. People almost die playing hockey.

Plus, Quebec is in their own little world, it'll never pass they barely consider themselves to be a part of Canada and I wish they'd separate already. Moving on, it would be their league. Ontario has it's own league, the states have it's own league. Quebec has it's own league (for juniors)

It's pretty pathetic that in hockey you can pretty much murder someone and get away with it.

Leafs aren't making playoffs for the third year in a row. In case anyone didn't know already, it's final.

Haha, yes I knew. But, theoritically, the Leafs have been out of the playoffs for weeks now. There was just too many teams for them to jump over. It was only Thursday, they were mathimatically eliminated.

I was thinking, who should the MVP winner be. Ovechkin has been amazingly great all season long. Especially the way he's carried his team this season. Mush like he has the past 3 seasons. But unless the Capitals make the playoffs, I honestly think the award should go to another. And my pick.... Joe Thornton of the San Jose Sharks. And here's why.

Thornton leads the Sharks with 91 points. The Sharks second point leader, is Campbell with 58 points. That's a difference of 33 points! And just to point out, Campbell is a defenceman. The second leading FORWARD point producer is Milan Michalek, who has 51 points. Thornton has a +/- of +18, has 11 power play goals, 4 game winning goals, and averages 26 minutes played per game. He leads his team in face off percentage, at 54.45%. The Sharks win games, because of Joe Thornton. Sure, they have one of the best goalies in the league in Evgeni Nabokov. But you take away Joe Thornton, and the Sharks wouldn't win games 3-2. They'd lose games 2-1. He has played with 13 different wingers. By far, the most of any center in the league. And it's this reason, San Jose boasts 7 different players who've reached double digits in goals. And this number, doesn't even include Thornton's 26 goals. The Sharks are in 1st place because of him. Without him, they'd be near the bottom, battling Colorado, Vancouver, Nashville, and Edmonton for the final 2 playoff spots. But on the shoulders of Mighty Joe Thornton, they can simply breathe easy, and gear up for the playoff push to win Lord Stanley.

Joe Thornton, 2007/2008 NHL MVP. xD

Ovechkin will probably get it because he's the first person in a long time to get over 60 goals in one season and just because the team doesn't make the playoffs doesn't mean a player on that team shouldn't be recognized :D

The Sharks are in 1st. They are 1st in their division. I didn't think I needed to be that clear on it.

Well, big night in games tonight.
    Edmonton versus Calgary
    Nashville versus St. Louis
    Vancouver versus Colorado

Now, if the Canucks lose, and both Nashville and Edmonton win, Vancouver slips from 8th place, all the way to 10th place.

And if Canucks get 1 point, and Nashville wins. Canucks go to 9th, Nashville goes to 8th.

So, Canucks have to beat Colorado tonight. If they don't, they need Nashville and Edmonton to lose. But I don't think Nashville will lose, because they are playing a pretty weak team in the St. Louis Blues.

    The Canucks can lose.

I don't look at specific divisions because those don't actually matter. Playoffs go by the conference, not division...And they have 106 points in the Western Conference, 5 points behind the Wings.

St. Louis and Nashville are in OT right now, nevermind, Preds just won.

Anyway, Canucks can lose, I don't care. I want Colorado to secure they position already. Flames need to win too. I'd rather have them then Oilers even though I can't stand either.
