It's illegal to look for a hooker but it's okay to be one.

    The law is twisted.

in other words, you can be a hooker but you can't be payed as one. Thus it's illegal, what that basically means is it's okay to be a stripper and get paid. Not sleep with someone.

The thing about getting loans for school..I just went through all of this.

You can't get a loan without a cosigner which very few people want to do for that amount of money. Canada has OSAP but for OSAP if either of your parents make X amount of money, they won't help you at all. If you make too much money at your part time job over the year, they give you a very little amount of money. My program+residence was over 6 grand. Luckily, my mom doesn't work and my dad wasn't on speaking terms with me so I got a large chunk plus scholarships so my school was paid for but I know someone who got a 100 dollars from OSAP and couldn't get a loan even with a cosigner.

No, if someone comes up to you and asks if you're a hooker you say "no, but if you come to my room, I can whatever". The hooker can ask you, you can't ask them. Loop holes are what make law fun.

Regardless of the money issue, if you really want you'll get a scolarship and if you dont have cash for school you get an intership or work you way up from somewhere.

Its not what you know its who you know.

Well, don't do it if you don't want to.

Actually it is what you know. You can't get scholarships without good grades and you can WANT those scholarships all you want and still not get them. If you're from a small town, your last name is what gets you them and people who don't deserve them, get them. I've been working since I was 12 I made no where near 6 grand and that's just one term. By the time I'm done school (8 years) I'll be 64,000 in debt and that's not even counting the rent and food I'll have to pay for.

Scholarships aren't going to give you 4-10 grand a semester, no matter who or what you know.

Needing money doesn't make selling your body right. There are other ways to make money, that don't involve doing anything along those lines.

    Plus, the risks of STD's/pregnancy.

If you get pregnant, then you're really going to need money.

So why is it okay to sell everything else? How is posing nude for money or taking off your clothes any different? That's STILL selling your body you're just not having sex. I don't approve of prostitution but I've never needed money that badly, I've never been out of a job and I've never been stuck at the bottom with absolutely no money or future.

That doesn't make prostitution right, though I don't support pornography myself.

    War is legalized killing.

    Murder is still wrong.

It's your body. Why shouldn't you have control over it? Why shouldn't you be allowed to charge someone money for the service of sharing your body?

    Prostitution is basically selling sex.
And I guess that should be allowed, right?
I mean, we sell people cigarettes that will rot their lungs and alcohol that will poison their bodies, why not let them indulge in sex?

Maybe prostitution is not accepted because some people think that physical and moral integrity are a tiny bit more important than money. Just an idea.

I don't think prostitution should be banned though, people should be allowed to do whatever they want, if they want to be capitalist they should be allowed to. And it would lower the cases of rape. But I still wouldn't do it, and it would still be somewhat immoral and wrong [like that's the only immoral, wrong thing that's legalized].

There are always other ways to get money. My parents lived through both the post-revolution economic crises and the communist crises [some analysts say that those periods were even worse than the 30's] They have creepy stories about what students did to gain some extra-money and how things worked back then, but none of them include pornography or prostitution. If you want to go to college and have a career, if you truly want it, you'll make it through, without selling yourself.
