Wait soo, I feel kind of stupid asking this but I am very confused. I used to think Wicca was like witchcraft but from reading this is it kind of like animism bc people mention nature a lot. Well my main question is like when you meditate or whatever can you cast a spell or something of the sort and does it work? is wicca witchcraft? and what do people do in black magic?

Wicca joke of Christianity: You pray in a cold church while I dance naked around a bonfire. :P

    Wicca uses witchcraft.
The spells that I've looked up usually have to have candles, and they always involve nature because you have to thank nature usually after every spell. I think. I'm wiccan but I haven't really gotten to cast spells, I don't have the resources.
black magic is curses and such. That's when people use magic to bring harm to others. Don't try black magic, because what ever you do to someone else you get 10X worse.
If I'm wrong about something, please inform me. haha

Most or all Wicca spells use the Gods and Goddesses in them because you have to thank them for being present in your spell or ritual.
But its basically the appreiciation of nature and seeing the true things in everything.
Most Wiccan's say that Wicca is the religion and Witchcraft is actually doing the rituals and what not.
I'm rambling now, i'm gonna stop...

Im pagan, and yeah, it is a really nice, relaxed religion.
I've had some bad experiences with Christians (but not all of you are bad!! some of you are totally awesome!!) where they tell you to renounce your " evil, soul-damning, satanic ways". I find it really rude when people like that come round and try to convert you. it's hard to respect someone for their religion when they're trying to shove it onto you, because otherwise you'll go to hell. I dont believe in hell, so there.

It's really fun to research, because there are so many different forms and branches of it. Technically, anything not Christian is apparently pagan. So you could be Into the older pantheons - greek, roman, egyptian, native american, norse, etc, but you'd still be Pagan. It's a huge, diverse world.
But yeah, you can also have bad experiences with it, so you cant really just say "okay, i've decided, im a pagan/wiccan now!!" It really does go way deeper... anyway, that's just me...

okay, there is no such thing as "black" magic. magic is a pure form, niether white nor black. its like your favourite hammer. that's not black in essence, it's all about how you use it. If you hurt someone with the hammer, it's not really the hammer's fault. you used it to do that. Magic is the same - its the way it is used that makes it black, not the magic itself. do i make sense?? sorry if this sounds like a lecture... im just letting you know... but it's the use and intent of use that is black/evil. and

yeah, we use candles alot, because we invoke the power of all four natural elements, and the candle is for fire. plus we use various different coloured csandles to represent the God, Goddess, etc. and we call on nature because it is nature's power (and through that, the dieties) we are using to do our spell/ritual.

any questions, or if i missed something... mail me or something.. :)

You do not have to be Wiccan to get hurt practicing Magick. You don't even have to be a Witch.

Our minds are unbelievable things, and sometimes those things are hard to control...so...yeah.

I've been studying Wicca for 5 months now, and I love it. I'm not "initiated" yet, but I am definitely on my way. :) I just have to learn some more stuff, get control of myself.

    Blessed Be.

    Ciorram_Absolut:

What kind of Pagan are you? Or are you just the general (sorry, i'm not well versed on this). I met a girl who was Celtic Pagan, and you Ciorram sounds sort of Gaelic...so idk.

    Anywho--

Most people believe that Wicca is the Religion aspect, and Witchcraft, the Magick, but I have rarely met a Wiccan who did not practice Magick, and a Witch who did not worship the Wiccan dieties.

Also, Christians pretty much adopted everything from Paganism. They adopted their churches, and their holidays. Just changed the name.

Our mind can perform Magick without the use of candles and incense. But it is very hard to trigger our sub-conscious, and super-conscious, so we use triggers (candles, incense, fire, light, water, salt, pentacle, athame, etc.) to help raise the energy.

Witchcraft is Quantum Physics (Energy Manipulation). Our body has magnetic pulls, and different Chakras that emit this magnetic energy. Negative thoughts attract Negative things, Positive thoughts attract Positive things.

That's why when you're astral projecting, you should never think about negative things, or be scared, because you will attract beings with lower vibrations than you and could get hurt.

    Wow...i'm rambling.

    Okay, i'm done.

    Hope that helped!!

Imbolc is February 2nd, all you fellow celebraters!!!!

In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust

yup. im not exactly sure what kind of pagan i am, but i know ive been it all my life.

lol i get really confused about all the holidays, cuz i live in the southern hemispere - they all get turned around. and you're very right Skkye, they did steal all our holidays lol.

and you may find that a lot of Pagans dont actually agree with Wiccans on some things; im not exactly sure why, but there's a few members of my coven/group that complain (goodnaturedly of course haha) about wiccans. i think it may be because it is actually really recent, and it can be argued that it isn't as... authentic?... as paganism. Im not very sure.

    but yeah. :)

I'm not Wiccan, but I'm Pagan.
Some Pagans follow a sense of Wicca also. I'm not a witch, though.
Some people mislead my prayers as spells.

Edit; I'm Neopagan to be exact.

I wanted to become Wiccan, but then I just gave up when I read about the whole God and Goddess thing... :shifty. I wanted a religion that was real with the element of magic and connection to nature and spirituality, but as soon as I read that you have to believe in somebody higher than yourself, I clicked out and said "fuck it."

^ I suppose you could follow some of the Wiccan beliefs and some you could just leave out? Idk. All religions centre around one or a few "Gods" who people have to praise etc :file:

I'm am Eclectic Wiccan so I use bits and pieces from other Wiccans:
Gardnerian, Alexandrian, Dianic, Kitchen (I don't know the proper term!), etc.
I haven't been initiated yet (too young and my parents won't allow me),
    so I'm waiting until I'm 18 or 19. I haven't practiced in a while and I feel kinda bad :o
It's a great religion though and it's way more open about sexuality and stuff compared to other religions -cough- Christianity -cough-.

I don't know if i've posted in here already.

I've been Wiccan since I was 9 years old. I know alot of people think "thats too young" but I don't think it is personally. I'm 17 now and I still haven't devoted myself fully, because i'm still learning.
No offence to anyone in here, but it just annoys me how people suddenly decide they want to be Wiccan, and they think it's just that simple to 'join a religion'.
When people convert to Catholisism or Islam, they aren't just suddenly a part of the religion. It takes time and and devotion, and alot of learning and studying.
