Where Do You Work Now or Where Have You Worked in the Past?

  • waits.:
I work at a bowling alley. In the kitchen.

    It's okay. XD
Pwaha, it's not okay, I pretty much hate my job. All the co-workers I really like have either been taken off my schedule or have resigned, and my boss is a nutjob. I love my supervisor, though.

Only 15 more days, though! Crazy

  • I work in a bookstore, best job ever if you're a bookworm Smiley Mind you, not that you're allowed to read while on the clock, but I became a whiz at recommending books, finding interesting stuff for people to read and all that crap. Plus, I met a tonne of artists, writers and musicians. Got promoted to the head of foreign literature and it doesn't get in the way of my attending all my college classes.

  • I work at a discount retail store. It's a pretty lonely job in the sense that you work in a department by yourself and you don't have much social interaction with the rest of the employees. But for me this isn't too much of a problem considering I'm the youngest employee in my job description by about 20 years probably.

None of them like me and tend to ignore me a lot so yeah. I don't exactly enjoy my job, because it's not very interesting, but for what I do, I get paid relatively well ,so there's no complaints there. XD

  • I work as a peer leader at the university. It's a really easy job; I get paid the minimum wage, but it's really for doing nothing. I teach certain chapters of the book to freshmen students on the University 1301 class; I grade assignments and presentations, take roll, and do office hours to help the students. I really do nothing lmfao and I get paid for it.

  • I work as a MA - Manager Assistant [all I do is clear tables to be honest] at a popular tea rooms in the UK. I work on weekends but sometime weekdays in the holidays. I do a nine hour shift every weekend, the pay is bad £4.45 it might have gone up. But we get bonus every so often which is great and some of the people I work with are awesome.

  • I'm working at a 'chocolate bar' [which is really a cafe that specializes in everything chocolate and has a chocolate shop in it as well] right now and have been for about six months. It's okay, I do three shifts a week or thereabouts, but it's extremely tiresome and we get some really nasty customers. As of tonight, I'm capable of working the floor, kitchen, desserts [so, making food and cold drinks], register, shop, and barista [which is hot drinks]. Which makes me completely capable of doing everything in the store - I think I'm quite possibly the only person that isn't a supervisor or manager that knows everything now. tehe

The pay's pretty good too, ten bucks an hour or so. And my manager is pretty awesome and everyone loves me. XD

  • Right now I work at a yarn store that I technically own with my grandparents, and work for my grandpa's wholesale business (which is in the same building, and I do them both together). I also book shows on the side, and haven't done one for profit in a while, but I want to get it going again soon.

  • I started work at a grocery store at the end of July, so I've been there for four months now. I work in the deli and I'm there in that section of the store by myself everytime I work becasue it's such a small place that they only need one person working there at a time.

It's okay, but I feel so isolated from everyone else who works there because the deli is right at the back of the store, away from everything else.

But I've got some good customers since it's mostly locals who shop there and they come in like every day.

  • My first job was putting books away in the local library. I worked twice a week at Spirit Halloween store one year. I remained at the library after graduating high school, but also worked at Great Harvest Bread Company. After a few months, the library closed and I was let go from Great Harvest. After several months of unemployment, I was hired at Wendy's, where I have unfortunately remained at for several months.

  • At the moment I'm working at GreenPoint Global in publishing. My task is to analyze periodicals from the 19th century, written in German Gothic, and label them. Very lame, but pays $10/hour and can be done from home, so I'm not complaining.
