Converse (need I say more?)

I love the Converse style (the skippies or canvas shoes), but not the name brand. I think I've only ever owned one pair of Converses, but I get tons of look-a-likes for much cheaper. I love canvas shoes. Inexpense, comfortable, and cute.

They've completely taken over the world - once they were a symbol of youth's rebellion against stereotypical environment. Now they are overused, over-commercialized and are quickly losing on the symbolism as hordes of children keeps worshiping them like this.

Oh right, and they're quite uncomfortable, it feels like I'm wearing canvas socks.

^Really now. I usually don't dislike things, even if they've gone mainstream. And besides, most of the kids here don't wear them, only I do. ¬_¬

But I do hate all those brands that copy the Chuck Taylor's style and make a Converse shoe in their brand. I'll see a nice style of shoe and look at the back of the heel, only to see another name printed on the back of it. XD

I absolutely adore Converses.
I only wear high tops, but I do have a pair that slide on.
And I stick with the old school black Chuck Taylors :D

My cream ones are really more of a brownish colour now and all worn out :tehe:

How were the a symbol of youth rebellion when that wasn't their purpose? Their purpose was to be worn simply as shoes. I mean, I don't know much about 1908, but I don't think there was a lot of youth rebellion then.

back in my middle school days, i hated converse shoes. i was one of those skateboarders shoes kind of girls. but then my best friend got a pair so i decided to buy a pair
by my freshman year of high school, i owned 5 pairs. i wear them all the time
whoever invented converse shoes is a pure genius!

Urgh, I'm so pissed.
My converse are everything. well, I went to a concert a couple days ago and when I got back, my converse had black marks on the toe caps, aswell as a little tear where you can see the cotton and the stuff beneath the toe cap. I'm very upset cause I like them scuffed, but not to the point where theres a little tear on the white part and can see the stuff beneath it like what it's made out of cause the left side is peeling from the bottom.
Grr. anyone else have this happen?! I've only had this pair for four months.

They're overrated...they're just shoes :roll: i love wearing them because i like the way they look but they really aren't anything special.

I've been wearing Vans for years. Converse just feel weird to me. :\

Converse all the way. They're the only show I own, plus I don't like big shoes.

i love converse. with all of the colors they have, you can get them to match any outfit.

currently, i have four pairs: yellow with stars on the tongue, original black high-tops, checkered low-top ones, & those ones that are low tops & have a really thin bottom. everyone was stunned when i first wore those, but i love them because they're different : )
