I love my new job, except my collegues. Seriously, could they get any more "perfect"? It's annoying. My boss has 3 offices and the one I'm working in, well they try to be the best in everything, they want to stand out over all other offices. Which is ridiculous because every office has its own specialty.
And they can't communicate in a normal way. They don't ask but they give orders. They don't explain my mistakes but they get kind of angry. If I ask questions they act like it's a huge effort to explain something again. They just don't realize how hard the job is if you have never done it before. There's so much pressure on me right now that if it wasn't for the money I'd probably have left already.
Also, there is a great age difference. I'm the youngest and I often feel treated like a little kid because of that. The other are at least 8 years older than I am so I feel like I can't really talk to them.
Found a new downside of being in the military. With this whole "Government Shutdown" thing, we're pretty much lucky if we're still getting paid right now. Everybody is now only gonna get paid half of what they usually do, and yeah....awesometastical!
We have concrete floors and I have bad feet. Not a good combo. I'm also not a fan of the fact that we don't have someone who runs breaks. And then the fact that, if you close, you aren't allowed to buy anything after your shift sucks, plus we can't buy anything on breaks.
I just started so it's a petty downside, but the pain of my feet. I know I'll get used to it eventually, but oh my god. At the end of the day I can hardly walk, and all I do is stand at the register. But at the end of the day we have to walk around and straighten for about an hour.
Even though I'm only a kennel girl, it's really hard to avoid seeing the operations that don't work well enough to save the animal and the effects the death has. I can't imagine being the vet that was responsible for the surgery.
2. Whenever a dog escapes from the fenced in area outside.
This has only happened once, but it was the worst day of my life. Long story short, the worst possible happened and the dog got hit by a car on the nearby highway. I saw it happen, I cried, it is never going to happen again.
You know, my job is great. Amazing pay, wonderful work. I work in a set building shop at my college and during the summer we do Audio Visual things around campus for the various activities and goings on. The only problem that I seem to have is that I work with three guys. Two of them are my bosses, one of them is a friend of mine. He however, is a cocky bastard and likes to rub in peoples faces that he's getting paid more than them or more than me and he gets all the great gigs and rubs that in my face as well. I love working with him. I wish he would learn some modesty though when it came down to what kind of work we are doing.
Working at a grocery store, rude customers, really slow customers, just downright mean customers, fetching carts when it's freezing cold or pouring rain, and making minimum wage. Building pools, it's hot. It's really fucking hot, and humid. And your back gets sore as hell. It's worth it though.
- Not nearly enough hours - Have to work Saturdays every week. (They are so insanely busy and I have to be there for the full day which is 11 hrs.) - Bitchy older women as customers.
I work as a cook at a nursing home. One time I a memory care patient ran out the door and I had to run after her and convince her her car was in the shop and her son was inside. It sounds weird that a cook was with patients, but it happens.
I run a parent & toddler group and my local church. It's held in a hall once a week so I have to get everything out of the basement (which is a shitload of stuff) and that takes me about an hour and a half. I'm also the only one working there, which is annoying sometimes. Other than that, I love it though.
