Schizophrenia - Horrorland. Although the context of the story does not mention any illness on the main characters, but it is quite obvious that everything is part of a delusion.

Bleed is a self harm slash suicide fic. As is Effluvium. And there will definitely be more like them on the way.

Insanity, although I don't write it anymore, deserves a mention. It dealt with bulimia, drug/alcohol addiction, depression and impulsiveness. Impulsiveness isn't a disorder, but at the time I had no idea what to put in there.

I write a lot of stories dealing with mental disorders, ranging in severity from minor to life-threatening.
Most of them, however, have yet to make it to mibba.

The Ponderings of a Sociopathic Office Employee has to deal with, well, a sociopathic office employee. There's still four more chapters left, basically a five day work week.

Stilettos and Insanity has to deal with severe schizophrenia. Mainly audiotory and visual hallucinations in this one. Also hinted sociopathy.

Oblivion deals with severe depression, isolation, eating disorders, sleeping disorders, and eventually institutionalization.

Eidolon also has some minor mental disorders. My main antagonist, Parker, suffers from uncontrollable anger issues, fairly degenerative insanity, he's a bit of a sadist, too. Paranoid schizophrenia. But, he's actually dead. So that complicates things. As for my protagonist, Yuki Eiri, yeah. He just goes crazy. Voices in the head, hallucinations, depression and self-isolation. It also touches on the after-effects of rape, suicide and attempted suicide, emotional breakdowns. Things along the lines of that. Oh, and corporate corruption. But that's not exactly a mental disorder unless you're talking about the person that's corrupt.

I'm currently working on one dealing with alcoholism and severe depression in a burlesque club owner. I don't know how that one's going to work out, or if it's going to make it to mibba at all. |:

I'm planning to start a story dealing with Social Anxiety Order soon. Kristen and I have been roleplaying the shit out of it and now I want to write it. Probably Ryden even though we've been RPing Peterick.

I'm trying to think, but I don't believe I have.
Currently, I am. I'm writing a Rockett that's centered around bulimia.
I've written a Peterick dealt with anorexia before, but I never posted it.

I am currently working on a story about delusional schizophrenia. It's hard - especially making an original plot.

I generally don't write about mental illnesses because you have to do a lot of research if you don't have it/know someone who has it. A lot of the times there's different types too (as with schizophrenia) and you have to make sure you have the right things going on if you name the type.

I also don't generally write them because I just can't think of any original ideas. Heh.

I'm wrting about Parinoid Schizophrenia in both my stories about the Joker. Just cause it's the Joker.

I'm writing about anorexia in an unposted story.
And, in almost every story I write, the main character has trust issues, or something along that.
I want to write a story inside the characters head completely. I love being random, and half the things I write are unrealistic to anyone that is sane.

    Well, it's a mental disability.

I'm writing about autism and I've written about it. I don't know much about it, but I've had experience with it. And I'm writing it again, now. ^_^
Whenever I write it, I always try to not mention autism or something like that.

I want to write Asperger's Syndrome really badly.
I've started stories, I've just never finished.
I'm really worried about writing it incorrectly and offending people.

I've always been interested in this but never tried it. I'm glad there's a thread about it. :)
I've started one about a girl with Borderline Personality Disorder. I think it's kind of fun to write with because the characters can be so dramatic and change drastically in a short amount of time. The plots come easy because I can base the whole story around it. BPD patients are the 'hopeless ones,' not many therapists are willing to work with them. Does anyone know any other stories with this disorder?

I also want to try one with Social Phobia. I've had it for ages, and I really want to get it down in writing, just kind of what I deal with everyday.

It looks like Ryan had delusional disorder in S/he even though I didn't attempt a mental disorder.

There's really no perfect way of writing it "correctly" because not a lot of people (if not all) know what Asperger's Syndrome or autism or anything like that. Nobody really knows what it's really like.

In Repeat, Repeat, I never once mentioned that Ryan had autism, even though he pretty much did. If you knew about it, you could probably realise though.

    Teasing isn't nice, Lena.

I was looking for autism stories the other day and now you mention one and I can't find it on your profile.

I'm planning on writing on an autism + OCD (kind of like the one my brother has) story for a contest.
    Or maybe ADD. I saw my brother the other day with this boy named Tyler tha had it and I almost started crying. ;_;

:tehe: Lena inspired me to give it a shot.

Just so I'm adding something to the conversation, I find it much easier to write about Mental disorders in certain fandoms. Like the Panic fandom, I find extremely easy to write about mental disorders.

I really think it depends on your characters, and how you write them. :shifty

I agree. There are some things that just don't fit certain fandoms. I love Panic mental disorder fics. :yah

I think it's easy just because we're used to this kind of stories not because they look or act as though they had a mental disorder in real life. Some months ago there were quite a few stories about MCR/The Used members being crazy.

I think it really depends on how flexible the character is and how well you know the character and his the disorder would fit with them.
