I know that most people have a little bit of eczema, I myself suffer really badly from it, and so here you post your problems with it and what helps it.

I find that after getting out of the shower, my skin becomes really itchy and dry. Anyone else have this problem, and if so, what can I do about it?

I have the most irksome skin. I get psoriasis, eczema and mild dermatitis.

For my eczema, I get creams off my doctor which really help. I also use certain soaps, moisterisers etc that I get from the pharmacy. I used salt soap on my hands because I get psoriasis on my hands predominantly.

I have a heap of moisterisers I use too, which really help. Don't have too long hot showers, they irritate the skin, because skin conditions like this means our skin is sensitive.

Use moisterisers after showering; it helps. Oh...I know this sounds obsessive but pat yourself dry don't rub....sometimes that just irritates the skin even more.

I hope that helps. :cute: But doctors know best. :tehe:

I don't have eczema. But I have psoriasis, this genetic stress sore thing, and I break out all the time. It sucks...

My friend also has eczema like you. It flares up when she eats pickles. Haha. But she happens to have it right on her face. Doesn't bother her much though. And it isn't that repulsive or anything. Just dry.

I used to have it really bad when I was younger.
My hands still get extremely dry...
But I have a circulation problem so it doesn't really help all that much...lmao...

It can er- be triggered by allergies too, but mostly stress. I know I have to avoid certain foods because it helps my psoriasis. What form of psoriasis do you have? I have the plaque form. :shifty

Mine has broken out again, the heat of the house in the winter always makes it break out.
It's all over my chin as well, :cheese: it's sore and the cream isn't helping me.

Try special moisteriser creams meant for eczema that you can get from the pharmacy, because I know that sets my eczema off too. Or just keep your skin hydrated and moisterised. I know I've closed off the heater in my room to prevent breakouts because I spend most of my time in there.

Same here. Mine looks terrible! Around my eyes is the worst. It hurts just to blink. I take these really good tablets that work overnight. And I have a cream that works really well. But my eczema feels so bad that I can't put the cream on because the texture of my skin makes me sick, I ran out of my magic tablets four days ago and I don't get my prescription 'til tomorrow! Disgust

I used to have it when I was little, but then it went away. But recently it's come back, and I think it's because of my acne medication. Makes me sad.

In the summer when i was little, I got it really bad behind my knees and the inside of my elbows. I put cortisone cream on it, which can be bought at a local drugstore, and it went away in a couple weeks. Although when i went in chlorinated water it would become extremely itchy and red.

Now i have a patch of it on the back of my thigh. It's starting to clear up. So that's good.

That sore thing I talked about earlier turns out to be pompholyx, a type of excema that's usually exclusive to the hands and feet. I get it badly on my palms, and hot water makes it so much worse. They're small blisters that develop under the skin and itch like crazy. They take weeks to heal and they hurt. I'm starting some cream I got from my dermatologist though, I'm hoping that will help. If not, I'm going to try a reduced nickel diet. I have an allergy to it, so I'm thinking that may do some good.

I have a patch that sort of overlaps my eyebrow that just looks terrible. And I have eczema on my scalp and no matter whether I use T Gel or not, I still have a flaky scalp because of it. Grr

I'm glad I don't have it as bad as I did when I was a kid. I had it literally everywhere and having a bath made it worse. I couldn't use soap when I was a kid either because of it.

I used to get it so bad on my hands and fingers from the time I was little until I was like 16.

I tried everything, and all I could do was let it run it's course and suffer.

All eczema has a similar appearance. Acute lesions are composed of many small fluid-filled structures that usually found in red, swollen skin. When these eczema break, the fluid leaks out, causing characteristic weeping and oozing. When the fluid dries, it produces a thin crust. Sometimes these structures become harder when it becomes older.

I have eczema on my arms and it's been something I've felt embarrassed about for years. It gets worse in the winter but it's still there in the summer and I hate it. I have dry, angry red patches all over my arms. I found an eczema lotion by aveeno that I'm going to try later this week... hoping it'll work out.
