Getting the Most Out of Mibba's Comment Swap - Comments

I wish everyone on Mibba would read this, some of the comments I get from comment swap are ridiculous. 'I don't like this band so I'm not going to read it but you have a nice layout' etc. etc.

I'm loving the comment swap feature. Not only have I found some great stories, I've had some amazing comments on my own work. It just annoys me that so many people comment on my layout... surely the writing is more important than whether I use a custom layout or the "boring" default one?

How will we know if we have posted 200 characters?

In "two weeks"?

When will the new features be added? I like the idea of being able to choose a genre, as well.

I'm excited for the "cracking down" on actually reading the story. I'm sick of people telling me about my layout - while it's important, it's not what I want to hear about :P

Letting people choose what they read so specifically may backfire; for instance, it's not exactly a secret that certain genres (e.g. anything not fan fiction) tend to get less traffic already. Comment swap has done an excellent job of compelling people to read "outside their boxes," so to speak. Allowing people to choose so specifically will essentially turn the feature into a way for everyone to force each other to comment. It will cease to encourage them to read like writers--by that I mean, reading for structural and stylistic elements that make a story good. In a writing community, that is precisely the sort of activity that should be encouraged. If we're all just reading stories for our favorite recurring celebrity/fictional characters, we're really not serving the purpose of being a writing community. I hope you'll consider that as you make changes to the current system, which I already happen to think has done something great. Thanks! :)

My worries about this 24 hour thing is that a story may not get commented on and keeps on flipping from user to user. So while I comment on a bunch of stories, my one story is being thrown around for days.

when I first started to use comment swap, I really like it. I guess I did a couple of things wrong, So I guess I had gotten banned from it. Though, I was never told what I did wrong. Nor was I told I was banned until I went to check it, Saw little red letters stating "you do not have permission to use this feature" As you can see I am still highly upset about this. I have been with Mibba for a while now, That just sort of lowered my liking to mibba. But...I still love to write here and I do love the comments I get with or without comment swap. Just wish I could use it and that the admin I write to would respond back.... Other then that. I wish Comment swap the best in its upcoming out of beta stages.
