"I don't want just words. If that's all you have for me, you'd better go." - F. Scott Fitzgerald

Everyone has heard of the expression “actions speak louder than words”, usually as a child. And that expression is very true and absolutely perfect, especially when it comes to expressing feelings. In the story Just Words, it’s monroe. couldn’t have given a better example than that of two teens becoming deeply attracted to each other.

The setting of the story opens at a house party held by the main male character, Camden, while his parents are away. His friend Sophie soon introduces him to a girl, the main female character, whose name is Jessica. Although Camden is instantly attracted to and intrigued by Jessica, she claims that she doesn’t feel the same for him in return, even trying to convince herself that she hates him. She tells him that if he wants her so badly he has to use more than just words.

However, over the course of the four chapters, the two are pushed together and the attraction between them becomes undeniable. Just Words is an adorable short story that was written for a contest and inspired by a beautiful song. It is the essence of the phrase “actions speak louder than words”.

I highly recommend it for those who need a short and sweet story. Much thanks to dougie poynter; and psychotic secrets; for editing!
