MM Reviews: Fat Girl

Title: Fat Girl
Author: The Westerner
Type: Original Fiction
Genre: Teen
Rating: PG-13

It's common knowledge that a lot of boys and girls often feel dissatisfied with their appearance during their teenage years. Sometimes it goes beyond those years, and other time it can last an entire lifetime. It can get to the point where they can have a partner who accepts them for who they are and what they look like but they themselves still cannot accept their appearance.

Fat Girl tells a year in the life of a girl who is unsatisfied with her appearance through what appears to be short journal entries. Remaining nameless through the entire oneshot, this girl leads a life that could very well be your own life. Not only is her life relatable, but so is she as the reader can't help but identify with her struggles.

With just under 600 words, The Westerner tells a story that has such a powerful meaning to many of us on Mibba that it's a wonder why more people haven't discovered the oneshot. The language simple, the structure clear and the message loud, Fat Girl is one of those stories that stay with the reader long after it's read. Not only will The Westerner's writing strike the reader, but the message of self-acceptance might even be taken to the heart by those that need it most.

You simply do not want to pass up this story.
