Punctuation Power: The Comma and The Em Dash - Comments

I'm still slightly confused to be honest. The example you used with where the phrase 'he likes the turkey sandwich' was seperated by commas, like why wouldnt' something like that be considered a parenthetical thought and therefore be better suited for em dashes and/or parentheses?
Still, I was gonna be confused anyway, so thanks for the article all the same.
