Hi there! Sorry I haven't replied to your comment in forever! Cigarette Smoke is my favorite project right now, so it's on the top of my to-do list. I didn't plan to take such a long break, but the first semester of college kicked me in the ass : But the next chapter will definitely be up soon! Thanks for your support so far! :)

I have read a few really good, well written stories on here but I cant speak to original work or where to find them, I dont read as much fanfic as i used to :/

Tbh most fanfic is not well written because there are no standards but there are some gems when writers really know what they're doing.

True of all fanfic communities, when I was writing Jonas Brothers fanfic I just read for ages before I posted to improve my own grammar and storytelling. I haven't uploaded in so long but I'm working on original stuff now because of the practice of fanfic over the years.

I completely agree that she is a more strong minded and accepting than most stories I read, but the writers tend to be younger. With age I think we learn awareness and empathy that can be used in our writing

It really seems like Amelia is a strong character. A great thing that I learnt in writing class is to write down the characteristics of her and that might help you to navigate what she would do in the situations that you put her in throughout the story. But dont worry you are doing a great job so far :D

Ah! Hi :) Thanks for the comment, and I'm glad you're excited about the update! Sorry I haven't gotten it up yet; my sister moved to another state, so we've been helping her move all week (I thought it was next week; oops!). Anyway, Cigarette Smoke will be updated tomorrow night or Monday morning :) Sorry for the slow update, and thanks for your continued support! And you don't ever have to worry about sounding rude when asking for an update! I got caught up and kinda forgot, and commenting helps keep me on track :)

Oh my god, thank you so much for the comment on my flyzik fic, that was lovely. I haven't given up on it or forgotten it and stuff, I've nearly finished the new chapter but updates are slow because I've had exams so I apologise for that but thank you, that meant a lot. :-)
