Hi, yes the competition is still running, I'm currently reading and commenting; which is taking me alot longer than anticipated! But the winner should be announced by (hopefully) Friday!
Yeah, true ^^. I hope I can become good enough that I can make anyone feel that about any of my stories, but we'll see.
I love that feeling though. When you can relate to the character or you know someone similar, or you can just get them completely by the explanation that the author provided. And I love it also when you feel that you've found a good friend or you can just love the character, the only sad thing about it is afterwards you have to realize they aren't real, and you can only have them when you read the book.
True, I prefer them also because it takes less time to read them xD But that's just me making sure if I do waste my time on a bad one, it won't be much time wasted.
But one thing I really love about the longer stories sometimes is how well you can get to know the characters, that doesn't usually happen so often in a short story because maybe you do learn a lot about them. But it's not so much like actually knowing them when you put the book away for a while (Or leave the computer) and come back later and see them (metaphorically) another day, it's really amazing. And that's why I'm going to try to master character development as well as some published authors and for example....Jinxeh on here, she writes fanfics, slightly, but she has the most amazing character development.
Yeah, haha. Sounds funny. And I've always been like that. I'd never finish stories longer than one shots when I was tinnnnnyy and writing too, so yeah. Hopefully I'll be able to break my curse, and you yours aswell =P
Omg, that does sound terribly laughable. I heard a lot about the movie due to my parents watching it, but they didn't tell me about that part, wow xD It's just completely ridicules!
Yeah, understandable. I've been attempting to write chaptered stories for a long time and I've never finished one, just got stuck and went on to another, but I believe I will finish my latest one whenever I get the chance.
You're welcome for the comments, and yeah, I really like your idea for dreamer ^^ I think that would be a really great story.
I know what you mean, I think I'm just the opposite with you though. I want to get better with my power of writing emotional scenes and feelings and such, but I'm not too bad at it now, I figure. But I fight with character development, but I think I am slowly, but surely training myself to get better at it. Because it is a big part of what makes a story, I'm just now realizing what all I haven't done that I need to do for my characters.
And I agree, I dislike Twilight too, even though I haven't read it and haven't watched it, I've heard enough that I'm afraid if I did, I'd die of the horror of how bad it is xD
