It doesn't matter what genre, as long as it's not stuff like Kanye West and T-pain (what the popular kids listen to). I really have had enough of New Boyz and Kanye west
I'm totally pro-Gay Straight Alliances. I don't see why anyone wouldn't be. Like, seriously, why do people think it's okay to hate? And why do people think it's okay to base laws on religion?
Also, thank you for your kind words on my physique. :) I know I have no right to complain about my looks, but still...I am a little chubby and no one seems to think I'm pretty except you and my friend on here named Chloe.
I would go the spiky hair thing, but I don't want but so much attention. I'm really uber shy and afraid at my school. Which is weird b/c I 'm a senior and have been in the same school system my whole life. I know punk and all that is supposed to be about being brave, standing out, and speaking your mind, etc. but you just don't know...my school is fukken vicious. I mean, it's horrible. All the posers in my school just dye their hair black and have lip rings, so when people see me (a real punk, etc) with magenta/fuschia (sp?)/pink/purple/wineberry (it's a really wierd color) hair and a septum piercing...it's like...they treat me like a freak. And I'm wearin that stuff in a fashionable sense, too, not in a punk sense. Other than the fact that I'm ugly and fat, I look just like those alternative models with the way I sport my uniqueness.
Like, if I go to bigger cities in my state, I'm accepted. But in my small "township" (which is located in the "bible belt"...oh goodie), people think I'm a devil worshiping neo-nazi (es, I have been called both things before...neither are true...I'm actually considering becoming Jewish...lol, so...)
So, yeah, I stand out in a modest way. I'm being as punk as I can in my town w/o getting my arse kicked. Is it like that for you, too?
I agree. Punk and goth are subcults. It is music and clothes, but it's so much more. Ideaologies, films, literature, dances, etc. ANd not every punk/goth is the same. There are different types of punks and goths with different opinions on stuff. Plus, punks and goths (unlike other labels who think their subultures but aren't) actually step out of the stereotypes. Plus, when you become goth/punk, you end up doing it b/c you find new interests, and you discover the subcult through that stuff. With conforming labels, you label yourself, then you pretend to like suff that's given that same label.
(That's how I try to explain it to those idiots, anyway)
Yeah, I consider my self punk, got, riot grrrl, and lolita, but I actually don't look it, either. I usually wear unique looking department store clothes and a few things from Hot Topic. That's really the only stuff that's available to me on my area. Plus, I'm too lazy to put on all that gothic or punk garben, you know?
Well, I think anyone that sends messages like that just b/c you have an opinion is really immature. I've gotten comments and messages like that before. I also had alot of people say I'm not a real punk or goth. THen when I was like, "So...then, what does goth and punk mean to you?" They had nothing to back up their previous statements. I am rambling, but what I'm saying is people on this ste need to grow up.
I liked the article, personally. It was funny, too.
Hey there! I LOVE your taste in music and I liked what you had to say on the Anti-Feminist World of Twilight article. I agree with you and the article's writer 100%. I'm Heather, btw. What's up?
I know! I absolutely love them! They're an awesome band that needs to come to the states more often. :) I've seen them once, and it amazingggg. Haha, I remember how Sean was saying that this was their first time playing in Cali, and that no one would understand them. I must say though, he's got one of the thickest accents I have ever heard....
Anyways, they're probably the best band I've seen! Oh, and I hope you can update soon. c:
Hi! I'm Millie. Just thought I'd tell you that your stories are pretty good. :) I also noticed that you like the Blackout and Lostprophets, so you're awesome already, I could tell. haha.
