Yep. In July of 1587, Sir Walter Raliegh lead ships up to the coast and established a colony. Govorner White leaves for England for supplies in August 1587, but when he returns in 1590, all they find is the word CROATAN on a tree. They try to remake the colony in 1602, but it fails until they move up to Jamestown in 1607 [/knowstoomuchhistory]

Lol. It's okay. Very common mistake; don't worry. But that's cool. Jamestown and Roanoke are my favorite parts of US History (years 1590-1615)

Jamestown was established in 1607. You're thinking of Williamsburg and such which wasn't around until the 1700s.
