About linking things to your profile, not just contests, you obviously cant just put the link. you have to use a code. And you mostly cannot use bbcode.
normally what you do is [url=...]what you want to call it[/url] <---- thats bbcode.
however on your profile you should use the code that is compatible with html (i believe its html). so you go to layout/html section and you put what you want to call it

for your signature you can just use the normal bbcode (aka [url=...]what you want to call it[/url])
