Sometimes, it really depends on how good the summary/description is. Almost all of the slash I read is bandfics; I can only think of about three original slash fics I've read. XP Do you?

And to the other comment, no, you can't tell when someone's on. Around the time I joined, you could, since there were little green triangles on the avatars in the forums, but they aren't there anymore. Sorry. :-/
