Yes, he does. The reason he's confused about the vanishing cabinet is because he's heard the dark lord mention it before, but he hasn't heard about it in full detail because that's what the dark lord was going to explain to him when he asked lucius to bring him to him over the summer.

Yes, but Darren felt responsible for everything and thinks it's all his fault.That's why he was so distraught by it all. Especially Kaylie getting killed and her brother ending up in jail. Darren thinks it all happened because he messed up.
