thank you for the review! i actually have trouble writing parents who are total assholes. generally they have to have at least one redeeming quality or they're just sort of oblivious to the fact that they're assholes. i like reading stories where the parents are a happy medium, leaning toward nice. most parents love their kids and it definitely seems that it's the opposite in fic.
