Rofl. YAAAAAY! :D I'm stoked. I pretty much love it when I'm included in stories because it makes me feel like I'm a little bit famous but in a very controlled and awesome way that means I can still look like shit when I go out in public. WOOOT.
Also, last piece of advice: figure out where your classes are before the first day of class. Like, room numbers may just be automatically given to you, but at the very least the building should (may not always) remain constant. At least have a good idea of what building you're in and how to get there and then how to get from there to another class. Teachers are good about the first couple classes if you're not on time, and some just never give a fuck as long as you don't make a commotion about it, but it also just makes you less stressed out. And it doesn't take long before you're super casual about the fact that your community college has like 5 buildings spread out and that you have to go back and forth between them. And you may actually start mocking people that don't know where the library is. Either that or I'm just a bitch.
Aw. No problem. :) I know how scary college can be at first, especially since TV and movies makes it seem like you're going to walk into class the first day and there's going to be like 300000000000000000 people in the classroom already and you'll be expected to have read and memorized the first 30 chapters and of course you'll be called on and have no idea what the fuck that teacher is talking about.
All bullshit. Genuinely, even in university, the first day of class is pretty much reserved for the teacher going through the attendance to find out that 1.) they're in the right classroom and 2.) how many of the people have already gone 'fuck this' and dropped. Also to hand out the syllabus and to give a rundown of their rules. Half of my classmates don't even buy the book until after the first day of class. I wouldn't recommend this though since both colleges I've gone to have given back full refunds on books if you return them unharmed within the first month.
It's definitely helpful. Plus, it's their job. And if you have them do the work, you're guaranteed to get into the courses you want. xD Look through the catalogue first and have sort of an idea of what you want first though.
It is pretty awesome. My earliest class I've had in a long time is at 9:30 am. xD I'm lazy as fuck, yo. Choosing classes isn't that bad, especially if you're obnoxious like I am and go to see an advisor every single time you sign up.
Don't be nervous. Especially not about community college. Most of your classes, if your community college is anything like mine was, won't have classes over 40 students. The set up is very much like high school structurally. Another epic thing about college is getting to choose your own schedule. If you play your cards right when you start going to college full time, you don't have to go to class before noon and if you're really good at planning, you may only have classes a few days a week.
