Seriously. Comments like yours are absolutely staggering and what makes writing fanfiction benefitable and worthwhile for me, so I genuinely want to thank you <3 You ARE the best, without a doubt.


I’m wondering why I don’t have more comments too, because let’s just face it, my story’s awesome, but that shouldn’t take the light away from the fact that I am so grateful to you people who comment.
I am soo happy you caught onto those sentences – it seems like it’s always you who knows what lines to take notice of, because you’re the only one who hangs onto the few sentences that, in my opinion, lift my prose style from general to fucking awesome.

I'm happy to hear that. I get the feeling that many fanfic readers just want to be "lazy-readers", as I call them in my head (xD), which basically means they're too lazy to analyze anything and just want to read something like Twilight where there's no depth in prose style and everything is laid out and explained. I like complex writing and I love analyzing and interpreting as you go along, but I sometimes think no one else wants to do that :b

Who knows? This is fiction, after all. No, I'm kidding. I haven't quite decided what Jim does for a living yet, but we'll see.

And yes, we do have kind of intelligent but also kind of retarded conversation. 'Tis nice <3

Thanks so much! Stephen was never a favourite of mine. I had planned for Dave to be one of the main characters in the story, but I really hate writing him and I didn't want the story to take on a "good people vs. bad people" angle. Sometimes I think if I should, after I've finished the story, post a sort of like analysis of the whole thing where I explain everything like I've done in some messages to you? some people might find it intereesting because my writing isn't as straight-forward as most fanfiction is.

And there are many beautiful Jim's, like Jim Morrison, and, uh, Jim Morrison :'D

And yeah, re-reading it I came to realise that Steven was a bit sassy, as you called it, but I've always seen him and Zoe as friends. And no, we're not going into details with Steven - his background is not relevant to the plot, but I just wanted it to seem like Zoe kind of saw him as a real human being instead of just some "Mary Sue" like boy who was just there, you know? She notices things about him that she hasn't before, and he says to her that he doesn't want her to do that because they're not friends. And why do you think I had him reading the same book Zoe and Ville discussed in an earlier chapter? I tell you, it wasn't a coincidence.


Why not? Jim is a good, american name, haha. I've wanted to portray Jim as a really reliable and good man for her, in contrast to what Ville is. And yeah, it sort of hit me that I needed to explain that as well, and then I remembered that my grandfather never wore a wedding ring because his friend lost his finger in construction (which my grandfather also worked in).

Actually.... Zoe's husband will make an appearance very soon. There's only like 5-10 chapters left of the story. Hate me.
And yeah, I totally get that. This is actually the first Valo story I think I'm going to finish, because I usually abandon my stories when I realise they're crap. I'm not very proud of In Venere Veritas compared to some other stuff I've done, but people like it, and I kind of need the self-confidence boost :D

You know, I had never planned for Zoe to have feelings for Ville. When I began writing this story, I wanted her to be friends with him (although she would seriously be hot for him haha) but not be in love with which she sort of is / isn't. It's hard for me to write because it's hard for me to figure out how she feels, and I hope that gets across when people read the story that Zoe is in some conflict with what she should do, even though she knows she loves her husband more or in a different way than Ville.

Anyway, story rant is over haha :D when are you going to write on "nice and content"? and by the way, this comment talking thing is stupid :) Do you have msn or skype?

I think I got your comment after reading it three times, and you're absolutely right in the sense that even though Zoe loves him, she doesn't "true-love-forever" love him, at least not the way he thinks he loves her. But I'm happy you caught onto that particular line!

Yeah.... I think many of my readers want it to be very typical in the sense that they want every single detail about their relationship, but I don't really want that, you know? I'm writing specific scenes for specific purposes. But I'll give you a teaser:
"Zoe was waiting behind the sound board when the band came from the other end of the theatre and walked up to take the stage. The sound tests were getting more and more dull; she’d come to realize that it was not the job she was so fond of, it was Ville, and he barely looked at her this afternoon. During the sound test she fucked up his microphone on purpose, just to see if he would correct her, but he pretended nothing was wrong and stalked out of the room when Dave called the test over. "
