Thanks for the poem comment. :)
Yeah, I liked how I actually thought and conceptualized this poem with imagery before writing it, I think it gave it a cleaner edge, so to speak.
I'm glad you liked it!
Thank you =)
And yes I'm working through some interconnected events, and all of that will be coming soon.
Also I will doctor the paragraphs, and such :)
P.S. I just got your comment when I posted the next chapter of my original fic. So if you haven't subscribed then you won't get an email thus I do believe you should check it out =D xx
Cheers for my story comment love =). It's lovely to hear a nice comment like that from someone who can use words as well as you can, especially because that's what almost all of my story is based on =).
How're you then anyways kiddo? You have a whole lotta friends on here haha, I feel lonely compared to you =P xx
Well thank you!
Go ahead and read anything you want.
I always appreciate feedback.
And yes, I definitely agree about it being good to share with others!
I'm glad you recognized me,
I didnt want to seem like some stalker! :O
Haha.
Thank you! and your very welcome :)
I commented on several of your poems, you are incredibly talented, I have yet to meet I poet on Mibba that makes me jealous lol
Crap, I just realized you probably have absolute no idea who the hell I am.
Haha, my name is Lisa, and I started the lgbt thread you replied to. :D
I try to say hey and welcome to everyone who posts.
It's kinda my way of bringing us together, you know?
Aaaanyways,
how are you today?
Hey there Jack!
It is very nice to meet you. :)
I'm glad you had the courage to post your story on here.
I just love when people walk up to me and say things like that...
[insert sarcasm here]
It's lame.
No worries, I wouldn't bullshit a writer!
Hemingway was just an example of what I meant when I was talking about flowery language (because he's known for keeping it short and to the point)
I can't say that I've ever read any of Duffy's stuff, but Poe is great. I studied him in an english course a little while back and he is definitely a great read.
You've got to stop being so nice. I feel like I nailed you with that whole "you're too flowery" thing and there you go with this whole being nice business.
I was speaking about writers in general, replying to your "about me" section- not about you! (I probably should have made that clear)
There's nothing wrong with being a word snob either. If there were more, I'm sure the world would be a better place (or it would sound like a better place).
What I don't like about a lot of poetry is that people feel like they have to rhyme every single verse, you know? That's where a lot of the flowery language comes from. I just don't like it when people get lost in their rhymes and words because, as pretty as it sounds, it really takes away from the idea.
I would definitely love to read more of your stuff though, it looks great!
(And should you ever feel the need to read anything about football [or Soccer you would say in the UK, right?] - I'm just saying, there's this girl named Val who writes one hell of a story.)
I couldn't help but comment.
I have many cats too. My friends joke that I'm the "Old cat lady with 20 cats living by myself by the time I'm 30."
Good to know there are more cat lovers out there.
:D
You know what I really liked about your earlier stuff? And by "earlier stuff" I mean that stuff you wrote two/three weeks ago. I loved that they were simple, but still manage to grab you right from the beginning.
Have you ever studied Hemmingway?
It's one thing to speak out against a devolving language, but it's another thing to get flowery- Do you know what I mean? Writers try so hard to complicate words and string them together to make them sound pretty, but it all really only ends up coming out as this nonsensical fluff that dances around the point of everything. They get lost in their words trying to save them from devolution.
(and that is not speaking to any of your poems, because they're beautifully worded. That's speaking to the tid-bit in your profile.)
That being said, your poems are great and I hope you keep writing them. I've never really read any poems on here before, but I might just have to start!
