Now to address your concerns: I also believe Katie needs to focus on herself, and that a 30-year-old is definitely not what she needs right now, but I wanted to add a little spice to the story. Plus there's this other big secret about Derek coming later on. Maybe even in the next chapter.
And about Nick, you'll just have to wait and see ;]

Hehe I tend to enjoy prologues in general. I'm not sure why but there is just something about them.

Though I will say thank you for that compliment. I'm going to be writing another prologue later today.

Hehe and actually the girl in Rust and Boots is different than the girl in Austen. They'll meet up around the time the story actually starts. I have preliminary plans for those too. Man I'm such a cruel story mistress >.>

Oh, I thought I would let you know that I did end up putting a sequel to Austen, and there is an explanation of it and my plans in the author's note of that called [i]Rust and Boots[/i]

Thanks for the comment on the story - as for the comments - whatever you feel is necessary. Mainly just the bits that didn't make sense/didn't flow and so on. I may also look into the title, it does kinda fit
