• Oh my gosh!! That was such a nice post. You sooo made my year. It means so much (:
Sorry it is taking me so long to get back to you! but I will definitely help you out!

I love that you are starting a story. I think writing is such a good way to get away from anything. Drama with friends, things with family, stress or just something to do. Also, I am a day dreamer. All. The. Time. It's what I do 95% of the time. So! With that being said, I am always thinking about scenarios in my head and all that stuff.
But I don't think you have to be a daydreamer to formulate things all the time. Like Livvy said beneath, always writing down ideas, even snippets in messy scrawl, is suuuch a good idea.
But if you read some of our author's notes, a lot of our story ideas come from real life experiences! The littlest things can spark a huge idea.

I honestly don't really remember how Livvy and I thought of the huge idea of Take A Sad Song, it was a while ago, but when I write my own stories (a lot I haven't posted) it is one simple thing that happened to me, and then I say "what if someone came along and did this" or I put myself in the other person's place and let it spiral. For example, I don't know if you've read my other story, Band-Aids, but I got the idea from me bringing my siblings to the dentist but I had to bring my two baby cousins along. When my brother and sister were in their appointment, I thought about what people were seeing me as. I probs looked bad because I had two little kids. And THAT tiny millisecond thought rolled into a story. So yeah, anything can start a story.
Then you just kind of build off that...

You can also write off the top of your head. I do both. I guess it kind of depends on what you prefer. You can just experiment (:

I get writer's block ALL THE TIME!!! And I lose ambition ALL THE TIME!!! To avoid that, write down your ideas. If a thought comes to mind, jot it down in the margin of your history notes, write it on your hand or send a text to yourself with it. Don't think you will just remember it, because you usually don't haha!

I don't know if you've thought about it, but before you post a story, make sure you have a pretty decent idea of where the story is going to go. Not doing that is probs the number one cause to lose motivation to write and ultimately quitting a story.

It also helps to bounce ideas off each someone else! Luckily Livvy and I are co-writing, so we can talk all the time about stuff. Finding someone to talk about stuff with is awesome. A lot of times asking your readers, they can sometimes spark ideas.

I hope I helped... I've never thought of myself as someone that inspires another person or someone another person looks up to. I've always looked up to other readers and still do! You are soooo sweet! Publishing it to a book?! *tear up :')*
I've always wanted to write a book....haha
If you ever want more help, let me know! I'll make sure to check out your stories too. I hope your writing goes well (:

• HI! I'm Livvy....from Take A Sad Song And Make It Better...I was creepin' on Emily's profile (where yu posted your comment) and thought that I'd write you a little something to answer yur question. Emily can add on to ths as well.

I TOTALLY know what you're talking about. I am terrible at finishing stories. I have killer ideas, type'em up, post them, but I never finish and when I do, they are really fast chapters and the story ends up short nd lacking awesomeness. I think this is the only story I've actually finished (even though its technically not done), but I think its because I just...

When Emily and I write, we plan out what each chapter will have in it, which helps A LOT. If you can see what each chapter says in it, it helps when you need to actually type it out. When I write chapters, I might get ideas in school, so I carry a notebook with me. Its filled with chapter ideas and writing the actual chapter. It helps a lot with not getting writers block, which really sucks I agree with you on that.

So basically, carry a notebook to write down chapters, ideas and plan out what you want in each chapter so it will help you with the other things (writing down chapters and ideas)

I hope this helped :)
