What I meant is, whatever you do, live your life as if its your own story. You are the main character and the narrator... every day there are new developements in the plot, and its not just like "oh another crappy day nothing happened to me how boring", but "hey, a new thought came into my head" or "new plans for the future", or "I just realized something about that person that never occured to me before.."
The good moments are the action scenes you live moment by moment, hanging on to every detail, and the not-so-good times are only a brief summary which stands between you and the future. Try to find out new things about your setting, get inside the other character's heads and find out how they think. You are the mind behind it all...
