Hey, thanks for not getting mad at me about the article comment. I was just trying to figure out what you meant and, as most writers find, it's easier to do that when we write out our feelings and thoughts. I just didn't really understand why you were so hung up on a little thing like religion when it wasn't even part of the books. It's like saying "well, what if there was actually a District 14 and their export was battle tanks, why wouldn't Panem take advantage of that" if that makes sense. It's taking something that wasn't even mentioned, so there's no way for any speculation to happen. I do think you have an interesting point, honestly - it just doesn't seem very important especially compared to speculation with actual facts and such in the movie and books.

Religion is a tricky thing, too...because people feel like you're singling them out or acting superior. "Why wasn't God in this movie?" It sounds kind of like...I don't know, maybe like you're pushing your religion on people because you're uncomfortable that the words were used but that the religion wasn't a prominent thing in the movie. That's what it comes off as, not necessarily exactly like that, but something like it.

I didn't realise how annoying it was until one of my church leaders saw a book I had written and asked me if one of the characters was Christian. No particular reason, just wanted to know if she was Christian. I was like "I have no clue. I didn't even think about that." Not like I was saying oh, sorry for not thinking that over, more like shut the fuck up no one cares if she's Christian or not okay because no one gave a fuck if she was Christian. It was an alternate universe. Religion had no place in it because I don't want religion to be in every one of my stories. Le sigh.

Anyway. That's what I was trying to convey. I'm sorry, I ramble a lot. D;
