Aha, thank you - I'm so glad that you're enjoying the story! I can't promise that everything is going to be peachy-keen-jellybean for them [mostly because I have no idea what's gonna happen in the story] but I can promise you that things are gonna be all cute and squishy for them for a little.

Next chapter is going to be Zee trying to figure out what he's going to do and the best way to get her back, specifically since she hasn't told him she loves him.

And thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. But as you said, I'm scared about what might happen if I do help him. He does have a girlfriend up north at his old school and I don't want to end up getting hurt.

I just wasn't sure if it was too much or not because some people just don't like reading sad stuff. I don't know if I'd say a real writer writes reality, but in my personal experience, I think those that can write about emotions and make characters go through them like actual people do make their characters more alive. They come off as real people that way, and it's easier to connect.

Okay, I think I understand what you mean by that. And I really get that it's a bummer, so I can see where you're coming from with hating that. The honest truth is that there won't be much happy, at least not until the end because this story is focusing on that dark period of their lives. I think it's safe to say it took a long time for the guys to really get past Jimmy's death, and this story will be the same. Like I said before, there's going to be lighter moments in Lexi's POV during the times she won't be focusing on Brian, and when Brian does start to change his attitude, things will be a little better. But I'm fairly certain that the really happy stuff won't be until the end. Could be sooner though because I have a tendency to change things from the original plan, but there's really no guarantee. If the sad is too overwhelming, you can unsubscribe if you like. I'd understand not wanting to read something like that.

I know what you mean about being tired of the sadness. It's honestly wearing on me as well with writing it, and I think that contributed to my writer's block this last go around. However, there's not really much I can do to change that. The story is focused on death, how people handle that, and how it can affect people and relationships. It's supposed to be depressing because that's how it is in real life. As much as I know the readers want a happy chapter, and trust me I want to write one as well, it's not going to work. It wouldn't make sense for things to suddenly be okay again, and it most definitely would not be realistic. So the darker chapters will last for a while, especially those in Brian's POV because he's not coping well. However, I can promise that there will be lighter moments since from this point on Lexi's life won't revolve around Brian. She'll have distractions from those problems. I don't know if that makes up for the sad, probably doesn't, but it's the best I can do until things reach the point where they start to turn around. I honestly can't do anything other than that.
I'm also a little curious about the mainstream comment. I don't really know what that's supposed to mean, and I really would like to know what you mean by that. I feel like it's a negative thing because mainstream is usually used that way, but I have no idea why it's applying to the story.

If you want to know if Brian dies, just read the oneshot linked in the summary :) that's what the story is based off of and it has pretty much the same ending, although the full-length story will continue a bit further.

I'm actually not going to go into detail on how he died in the story. I know in reality, he died due to an overdose and an enlarged heart, and I've read an interview somewhere or heard one where they were talking about Jimmy's odd behavior before he died, which was why I put it into the story. I'll probably just let the readers come to their own conclusion, but since it's a canon fic, they'll probably stick with the overdose thing.

I really don't mind if you don't want to read My Heart Won't Let You Go anymore. It's personal opinion, and I can't force you. But I just feel like I need to defend some things. (I'm so not trying to be a bitch. I'm really not, but I think you might be getting the wrong idea.) You mentioned that she's been using him too long, I'm assuming you mean using him as a "sex toy" (she's not really by the way. It's just how it's coming across.) In all actuality, it's been a week, and they've only done it twice. And the bitchiness is mainly just her way of trying to keep herself from falling for him again. I'm not sure if you read Monster In You or not, but he did rape her while he was drunk. That's why she's hesitant of being with him. I also thought you should know that in the next chapter in her POV, she has a turn around. I don't know if that's enough to give it a second chance or not, but I thought I should just try and defend Lexi. If you don't want to give it a try, that's fine. Like I said, I can't force you. And please don't think I'm being bitchy or pissy with you because that's the farthest thing from my mind. I just couldn't not try to defend it.

I know it's taking forever for Lexi and Brian to work out their problems, but I promise that they'll make big progress in the next few chapters. :) I'm trying to make their story as realistic as possible, and in real life all relationships get messy. And keep in mind that they've only been around each other again for a month and she's messed up from past relationships. But I do promise things will get better soon.
Thanks for commenting though, and sorry about the big ass explanation too. I just want to let you see the way I see things from my persective as the writer.
