oh yeah, I get that, me too. :]

I will write your first chapter if you'll write my seconds, asdfghjkl. lmfao I'm at such a loss, and I really want my story to work out! the first chapter is done (it was done so long ago it needs a big overhaul, but still) but then I need to set up the trip, and introduce one character who's a stripper named Noreen. XDD and I don't even KNOW how that's going to happen. lmfao why are your characters travelling? :]

I suck at SECOND chapters! Twitch I usually think of the beginning of a story and the climax(es), or sometimes the end, first. but I don't usually plan the whole story, it just (at risk of sounding sooo pretentious XD) unfolfds. but the second chapter stuff NEVER unfolds itself for me. like, in the long piece I'm writing, to oversimplify, the characters go on a trip together, but I don't know how they decide on that. DAMN YOU SECOND CHAPTER. D:<<

I set mine in cars and houses/hotels/motels, so... easy stuff. XDD but I definitely think your setting and tone sound awesome, I just wish it was easier for you to write them! my problem is just a really fucking fleeting muse. I think I'm the least prolific writer ON EARTH. I'm working on a full-length story, but I'm writing it really slowly and not in order, so I can't post it on mibba. D:

again, if we weren't talking about writing, you could more or less be me. :'] I understand too much to tell you to snap out of it, although I wish I could, because I'd love to be able to read those original stories you mentioned. you could try writing the kind of stuff I do, haha. nothing big happens except interpersonal things, so the research is minimal. :3

Writing is essentially the ONLY aspect of my life where I don't put that kind of pressure on myself. But I definitely understand it. For me, writing fanfiction (that isn't AU like mine was) would be worse than original fiction. Like what you mentioned about the fortress-- in that case, I definitely would feel compelled to portray it accurately, especially in the fandom was pretty serious about that kind of thing. With original fiction, well... The scope of my stories isn't nearly as impressive as yours, so I have less to worry about. :'] And I generally stick to writing what I know, or at least things I'm very interested in, which I can research well, like Munchausen's disease or something. Sometimes it's okay to take liberties, though, and I wish you'd been able to convince yourself of that, because your original fiction stories sound truly amazing. In Love I've always wanted to write an apocalyse/post-apocalypse story, asdfghjkl. But I don't think I could pull off something that daunting. Honestly, though, you seem incredibly, incredibly talented... I'm so sorry that you're having a hard time writing because you're afraid of failing. Sad I'd like to try to convince you that it's okay not to know everything; after all, I think of mibba and other online writing as practice, and there will be time later to make the kind of connections professional authors use for learning or fact-checking. But I know how deep-seated fear of failure is. Sad I wish I could help, because you sound like an amazing author, but I'll settle for keeping you in my thoughts/prayers and hope that the freedom to write without fear comes back. Arms

That is pretty sad. Even if she legitimately thinks you're missing out on the BEST THING IN THE WORLD, she should just shake her head and pity you silently instead of trying to FORCE you to read and enjoy SI. lmfao

That's probably a good idea. I get really stressed and uncomfortable when debates take a turn for the worse, too. :/ And I don't think there's ever really a good reason for that, you know? I think people should try harder to see the other person's point of view as well.

haha, yeah, I've heard that reasoning a lot and it does make sense. :] bands like My Chemical Romance know about it, though, they obviously just don't read it. If I were famous, I'd probably read it out of curiousity. XD But I'd have to try not to take it too personally... having written it, I understand that most of the stories aren't intended to reflect on the actual celebrity. Like, I could write a story where Zooey Deschanel is an axe murderer, even though I actually love her and think she's adorable. XD But yeah, I stopped writing fanfiction a long time ago because I guess it stopped being inspiring, and I only write original fiction now. My fanfiction really had nothing to do with the real people besides inspiration, so it wasn't a far leap. :]

I would be SO frustrated, ugh. D:

Ohhhh, SI... yeah, I don't read it either. I can't believe someone got pissy at you for saying you wouldn't read it! There are people who won't read slash/het/incest/sad stories/happy stories/you name it. And who cares? I should be able to go on a thread and be like "I refuse to read _______" and no one should even argue. XD I mean... they can ask why not. But really, it's just a personal thing. so what? It's not that I don't think it can be good, it's just that it can never be something that I, personally, will enjoy. SI is probably the main thing I don't really like in stories. That, and eating disorders. it's not a judgment against the writers at all, and I think it's beyoooond insecure for a writer to take it that way. when I first starting writing, I wrote Frerard, and that used to be "in" on mibba, and we'd all get so defensive whenever anyone said they wouldn't read it. but then... I got over it. XD

everybody debates SO MUCH on here now, I don't know why. :c I like a little debate, and if you posted and said something I wrote a lot turned you off stories, I might question you about it... but enough is enough, you know? people don't know how to agree to disagree; they want to fight about it until the other person changes their mind, as if that's going to happen. D: I used to love that thread and I never go on anymore because I hate when the claws come out. I mean, it's called the Things You HATE to See in Stories Thread... someone is going to post something you write, and whatever, who cares? what do people expect?

so... what do you hate in stories? XD

I'm sorry. Sad I usually avoid all the debate-heavy threads because people here tend do that in order to "prove" their point or whatever. :S Those kind of things really get to me, too... I think some people don't understand because they just naturally don't take things as personally. but when you're someone who does (and I know I can't help it), it's hard to debate with somebody who doesn't play fair, or who completely misinterprets you and won't listen if you correct them.

you can always debate with me, I'm nice ;) Arms

Late reply because I'm totally not with it today and would really like to sleep. :) Anywho, so googled Valenwind (I actually googled Valenwin the first time and was thinking no idea what's going on here because there was NOTHING!) But alas, it's not 1am this time...and I imaged searched it and there were anime(?) drawings. So...is it a telly series of anime people?

Ah fair enough. That makes it a little less uncreepy if you're writing with someone. :) I felt totally creepy when I was writing fanfiction, but then I figured that if I killed the character off (which was the original intention the whole time) it's not really gonna matter. :)

Opening with the ending would work out quite well too, then it has this whole intriguing air to it. :) Oh well, romantic, fluffy music...lemme see, (I'm listening to Bon Jovi at the moment), oh The Click Five. Guilty pleasure of mine. :) Most of their lyrics are super sweet. :)

Maybe that'll give you an incentive to finish it. :) Or not, you know. It's always great when you stumble across something you've written and you're like this is pretty decent. This is a plus too then. At least it's not so awkward anymore, if there's things you think are less than normal compared to it. :)

    Totally isn't. :)

Well, I think that one would be more awkward if there's no way it's up for discussion. So, maybe the octogenarian ain't so bad after all. :) Ah, that just sounds so casual. :) Yeah, just chilling with Fall Out Boy, writing up on Beetlejuice. Not a horrible fandom. Entertaining though?

'Awkward' crush means something though. ;) Means you acknowledge the crush, and are awkward about it...rather than BAM! Love this shit right here man! Tell the whole world about it all the time. Because that wouldn't be awkward as such...I don't think. :)

Alrighty then. Well, I'll have no judgement about this. Not that I did when I read that comment. I was just thinking oh yeah. :) But that could be due to the fact that it's like 11:30 now, and my head's just fskdfnskjfnk.

Cannot say I have any awkward fandoms, sorry. :/ But this will not be an awkward situation.!

Ha, well at least you get to see the sun rise then. :) I keep my curtains closed in my room pretty much 24/7, so I never see it if I'm up early. Most times I'll just walk out into the lounge or kitchen and just see the sky filled with sun...or clouds....whatever.

I'm sure there may be a way that you keep it all secret until there's a time to announce who is with who in the piece. :) Though, I reckon it'd be pretty surprising anyway if you just said it was between an octogenarian and a disfigured person. Then just keep the punches rolling.

Naaah, not at all. At least you said 'crack pairing' because that gives it some legitimacy that it's not a fetish.

Sometimes. :) If I'm awake and it's dark I'll see the sun come up, but I think I miss it quite a lot these days. But definitely the first in the world to see a new day. :)

Ah you could just break the introduction convention, get right into it, then later on have an introduction type chapter. It'd make it fairly interesting.

Yep, I'm in New Zealand. Chilling out in the future. :)

Haha, and that is so not surprising either. It's always during an inconvenient time that it's busy...and you're just missing out on everything. Fairly certain I'm asleep when there's a bit of action on Mibba.
