Cause I've been wanting to do a rodeo/cowgirl/boy story since like forever but if I'm going to write a story I want to be correct in my knowledge and what better way to get knowledge than to ask someone that experiences what I want to write about.

    Haha, glad I could help.

Um, all I really know is bull fighters are those that have to get between the bull and rider to protect them. They're very courageous and will take the hit from a bull everytime. They also entertain as well, though that's left to the "rodeo clown" whose the one who battles with the announcer and tells jokes and does act throughout the rodeo. He's usually the one standing in the barrel, egging everyone else on. Its the bull fighters that do the dangerous stuff, like saving the bull fighters. There's usually two bull fighters--not counting the rodeo clown. They're a pretty legit group and the only reason I stay to watch the bull riding. xD

Aha, thank you so much for the comment, I'm sorry it's not the best. XD

I tried to write it, but I don't know, sometimes my words don't come out right. And it was taken from a kidnap victim, I forgot who it was. But, yeah, I can pull up a reference picture and post it up there. I don't know.

Okay, okay! Where do I even start? In pro rodeo there's seven events: bareback riding, tie-down roping(calf roping), bronc riding, bull dogging(steer wrestling), barrel racing, and bull riding. In junior and high school level, there's also breakaway roping, pole bending, and goat tying. In college, they ulimate pole bending(for reasons unknown to myself).

Bareback riding beats the crap out of you because all you have to hang onto is "the rigging" or that handle that's strapped around the horse. Bronc riding involves a saddle, though there's no horn and such. It involves the riding moving the legs forward and back along with pulling up on the horse's head in a syncrinized fashion that helps with balance. Bull riding is...riding a bull pretty much. All involve staying on for 8 seconds and getting a judge's score that's based off both the rider and the animal. An 80 is a pretty average score for the pros.

Tie-down roping is where the cowboy chases after a calf, ropes it, jumps off, and ties three legs of the calf together. Fastest time wins. However, there's a rope across the front of the box that the horse comes out of that's actually attached to the calf for so long. If the horse "breaks the barrier" (i.e. leaves before the barrier snaps off the calf's neck), then its a ten second penalty.

Team roping invovles two ropers--header and heeler. The header ropes the head of the steer, usually around the horns or neck and the heeler is supposed to rope the back legs. "breaking the barrier" goes the same for this.

Bull dogging(steer wrestling) is just like it sounds. The cowboy takes off after a steer, leans of the horse and is supposed to wrestle it to the ground with all four legs out. There's another horse and rider riding on the right side of the steer to keep it going straight. Breaking the barrier qualifies here as well.

Barrel racing is the cowgirl's sport(and what I do. xD) The horse and rider run in a cloverleaf pattern around three barrels, to the right or left first. Fastest time wins. Though it sounds easy, its not. There's such things to look for such as the pocket, horses' arc, etc. It can take years to make a solid barrel horse. If a barrel is knocked over, that's either a five or ten second penalty, depending on where you are.

Hope I totally didn't just overwhelm you. xD Those videos I linked are examples, featuring my favorite from each event. I'm kinda biased. Mr. Green

Lol, honey, it is romance. Or...if you can call it that. It kinda is. Its going to be told from the perspective of a bull fighter's wife, let's just leave it at that.

I'm glad it made you smile. I was just like randomly watching TV today then a guy walked across in a cowboy hat and it remimded me of your story....but I didn't remember who the author was so I spent a good twenty minutes going through my friends. Then I remembered you were my only cowboy...girl...person friend and that you had to have posted it. So I went and stalked your profile for another ten minutes, then found the link and then I posted the comment...I really want the story now.....
