You should do that. It'll be good for you. (:
Haha, you know my opinion on teenagers who jump in with two feet and are all 'forever and ever' kind of couples. Your whole system (it's weird calling it a system, but I don't know what else to call it) makes sense, and I can totally see where you're coming from. I don't know, though. I seem to be making excuses because maybe I'm scared or something, but in a city of 11 million there are no boys for me. They are either arrogant or the strong silent type. I'm judging, though, so maybe I should get to know them more. My interest rarely holds out for more than a few hours. I'm finicky and I feel like a wh*re now. But maybe that's alright because, like you said, I'm only young. But then you're different. I'll work on it.
Sorry for all the rambling. I don't know where my mind is.

Yes, they do all of that - usually under the cover of 'being in love' (pretending or mistaking lust for love). The I love you thing is tough, but lying would just encourage them. You shouldn't feel obligated, though I understand why you do. Ironically, the whole situation tends to ruin relationships - once, a boy told me he loved me and just totally changed whn I refused to say it back. I tried explaining to him that we hadn't been together long enough for me to develop such deep feelings, and that I might get them later on in the relationship. He wouldn't listen to me, and I'm glad that I didn't pretend to love him as he later turned out to be a possessive d*ckhead with another girl. Your boyfriend sounds like he'd understand if you weren't ready to say it, so yes, don't worry about it. He sounds quite the gentleman. (:
How are you so sorted out? :o At least I got something right. All of the rest makes sense, though. Where do you meet boys to conduct such analysis? It sounds like you'd need to pay a lot of attention. I cannot even imagine doing all of that, which is probably where I'm going wrong.

I think most teenagers who genuinely like each other HOPE to stay together forever. It's not until they grow up that they realise that it is possible to have a good relationship with a nice person that ends, on good terms. It is like a jinx! I think declaring love for each other too early jinxes it as well, as couples who are always saying that break up quickly. Saying 'I love you' too early, in my opinion, makes all of the fun end quicker and turns the relationship serious. It's not always a bad thing, but most teens can't handle serious relationships.
I sound really old talking about teenagers in this way.I'm 17, but sometimes I feel like I'm 70. (:
Seriously, you sound like a good friend to have. How do you do that? I can usually assume that if a guy is arrogant, he is likely to be a bad boyfriend, but I'm not always right with these assumptions. What do you look for to tell if a guy's going to be good or not?

Pretty good. Trying to enjoy summer while it lasts. Which, for me, means making origami and watching old Pokemon episodes on my laptop. :)

You're very realistic for a sixteen-year-old. Lots of teenagers believe they'll be together forever, then break up after (usually) less than a year. But you shouldn't be thinking too much about it at this stage, haha.
Yes, I need all the help I can get. But how? :o

When I find guys like that, they're either taken, or gay, or not looking for a relationship, or they live about 54 hundred billion miles away. I shall keep looking anyway. (:

He sounds like he knows exactly what he wants, girls-wise, because he didn't mess around with other girls. So he's a respectful, caring goofball? You're making me jealous, haha. Seriously. (:

I could have been tragic. :o
Aw, he sounds really sweet, bless him. No ordinary boy would stay up that long to text when he was ill. You are very lucky, so you should definitely consider yourself to be so. How long have you been with him?

I think it does? I had a similar thing before, but with a fire alarm. It took me a while to properly wake up and realise what was happening. If my apartment block had actually been on fire, I would've just died, haha.
You have a boyfriend who texts you at 3am? Lucky girl. (:
