XD i know the feeling. i read through my first story a little while back and was like... its a nice enough story, but written horribly!

im writing a new story at the moment that isnt up on there, which im planning on putting on mibba, but im so useless at finishing stories im trying to get at least half way through before even thinking about posting it lol

BBcode lets you change font a little.
I think there's 7 styles you can choose.

you just put [font=*] Words you want in that font [/font]
where * is a number between 1 and 7...I think ;]

I think HTML is only use-able on the HTML section of your profile.

I mean, I don't know for sure, but I think for stories and stuff you have to use BBcode.
But it's no harder than HTML to get the hang of, really ;]

In the profile box on trhe right, click the "Layout/HTML" link

A new page should come up.

If you just want to center the about section, find the part that looks like this:





Either side of the bit that says {ABOUT}, put and
