Yeah we make it fun. We jump on a bus or a train to Belfast or Newry or Derry if we're desperate ... but one time in Belfast I got shot so we don't go there as often lol :P
We walk around the fields, persuade my big brother Eoin to buy us drink, persuade my big sister Niamh to cover for us, give some to two of my little sisters Mairead and Caoimhe so they don't tell Ma, and then we get drunk and dress up as the IRA and scare people :P
I've never been to Cobh, no. I was born and raised in Crossmaglen so the furthest I usually get is Dublin. But when I next go and visit Uncle Faoilainn, I'll have to persuade everyone to go down there!!!
I would cry so much though...it would be me crying at the GPO times 100. And I cry A LOT at the GPO.
Major family connections for me there - it's a sin that I've not been there yet! It's something I'm hopefully going to do in the easter hols, because we're going to Dublin for the Easter Rising parades and all. So we'll probably drive down there as well.
My uncle Faoilainn still lives down there, so we shack up on his farm. It's a BIG place.
It's really cool though, isn't it? One the movie, at the very end, they thank "the friends and relatives of Michael Collins" ... so I can technically say I'm on the credits lol!
I tell ye, one day I'm going to have to go to Beal na mBlath, just to see, like. I'll cry though. I mean, I cry at the GPO, and at Kilmainham and all that ... so I'll add Beal na mBlath as well!!!
Nope, no lie. My father is his brother's great grandson. I've loads of pictures as well! And I have a framed picture of him with one of his quotes ... and of course the awesome movie :P I loves it too!
It's one thing about my crazy family that I am proud of!!! Everyone usually guesses, though, because I share his surname.
you should like me loads then ...
Thy Great Mick is my great great uncle. No joke :P It says on my profile thingy *blinks at professionalism of my words*
And yes, he is pretty god damn amazing :)
