Well, I guess it depends on what you would like to know. DEFINITELY use the Harry Potter wiki, because that helps a lot in the story so you know EVERYTHING about anyone in your story.

And what's the plot of your story? The link wouldn't let me through, but I could probably help even more if I knew what it was about ;).

Make your story original, but try to stick to the plot. It always annoys me when someone changes the story too much. Some details are alright to change, but other ones aren't, like letting half the story wander into something that has nothing to do with the book.
