I've also writing a lestat fanfic and I never had to delete it. Yes, Rice doesn't like fanfics and there's a ban on fanfiction.net but they never really check it. I can name at least one other Lestat fanfic here on mibba that has 30-something chapters and there was never any trouble with it and even though there's a ban I'm still able to find Vampire Chronicles fanfics on fanfictionnet too. So honestly, there might be a ban but you can get away with it.
