I generally read horror, romance and fantasy. But I write horror and romance. I'm actually working on a horror right now (it's not on here yet) and it gives me chills just thinking about it!
NaNo is a good way to start, I mean you're learning to meet deadlines and then in December you sit down and edit the whole story which is perfect because it's more like a realistic process the way publishing is. When I was 5 I got a story about a dog I wrote published in my town, haha, I spent the money on a bunk bed. :)
