... Totally deleted one of the most important lines of my explanation before I posted! "An oxymoron is conjoining contradictory terms whereas juxtaposition is apposition and so setting them side by side e.g. 'the light against the darkness'." Hope that makes sense, can't believe it didn't post! <3
Hiya! Thanks for your comment... You've got me thinking now. An oxymoron, to my understanding, is when two words *side by side* contradict each other to bring a greater meaner. Juxtaposition is when two words, *not* necessarily side by side, contradict each other., for example, 'from ancient grudge break to new mutiny' - and therefore, 'ancient' and 'new' are juxtaposed... Did I waste four years studying English and still not get the correct meaning of an oxymoron and juxtaposition?! Help! <3
