Ahh, yeah, I get what you meann. I've never tried a joint story myself, but I did somewhat, [i]try,[/i] but in a weird way - this dude basically gave me a really cool plot and a bunch of characters and I had to write it. It didn't work out because I found it quite hard to get into.
But I get what you mean about the feedback, it really does annoy the hell out of me sometimes. I get an average of about four/five comments per chapter, when there's 60+ subs. So I know how you feel (:
