I figured that might be a reason behind why you didn't dwell on it more - and I can't even imagine what it would have been like to be so close to everything while it was happening. I remember waking up in the morning and seeing it on the television, and knowing from the way the adults around me were acting that it was something huge. I remember going to school and not doing anything all day, because my teacher was more focused on getting updates and keeping us informed on what was going on.
We were eleven. We were supposed to be kids, and we were being faced with evil like we'd never imagined - and we were safe in Australia!
I imagine it would have been terrifying for you. But I'm really glad you decided to write it, and I think it would make an interesting one-shot if anybody had the time. I think your version seems accurate, though - they would have woken to it on the TV. School would have been the last things on their minds.
...I'm supposed to be in bed, so I'll stop talking now. o.o
Yeah, I disappeared for a while there. D= Life should start to slow down again now September's here, but we'll see how we go. I haven't been writing at all, and it's almost painful. >.< Hopefully I can start again after work tonight.
How have you been, anyway? =) How's life treating you?
No problem, love. ^_^ I'm really enjoying the story, actually. Everything about it is just so beautiful, and I'm really excited to see what you do with it. =)
I apologise for any future delays in my commenting, though. =P Sometimes it can take me a while to catch up with the world.
Thank you so much for the comment! :) I know it's kinda rough and possibly slow right now, but I have so many ideas for this story. ^_^ Hopefully you enjoy the next one.
@ Haylie Jaed I'm loving mibba already! It's definitely refreshing. I'm doing really well. Working a TON, but I'm heading off to grad school in September so I've got that to look forward to! Which means I'll have to get all my story writing done now before I'm stuck writing papers all year instead :)
Well, I'm glad you decided to start again. ^_^ I stopped going on FanWorks and was really missing everybody's work, so it's nice to see at least one person back! =) And one of the old gang, too! And absolutely, I can relate. For the record, I find Mibba to be 110% better than FanWorks - there's a wider audience, it's easier to post chapters, and said chapters are neater. Plus, no email responding nonsense. =) I hope you come to like it here!
I'm all right. Been in a bit of a writing rut since late November, so just been trying to work my way out of that. I got a new job, so busy there. But other than that, life is pretty much the same. =) What's happening with you?
And wow, thanks! ^_^ Lost is my baby right now. I'm so proud of it.
And thank you for the comment on Catch Me as I Fall. ;) That's my attempt to get back into writing, so we'll see how we go!
@ Haylie Jaed Most likely both XD I've been great! I actually came across a bunch of my old stories and it inspired me to start writing some again (after disappearing from fanworks and being consumed by school work). I needed an outlet again, but it had to be in a different venue (which I'm sure you can relate to). How are you? I read your story "Lost" and absolutely loved it. It's great to reconnect after all this time!
Holy crap, Car! Of course I remember you! XD I think I still have you on Facebook. Or Twitter. Or possibly both. =P I had no idea you were still writing!
