I sat sadly at the base of the tree, taking deep breaths and trying to collect myself. My body was still shaking with sobs. I hugged my knees and looked down into the lit up cityscape. I brushed my face with my sleeve and breathed deeply. I'd managed to stop sobbing, but tremors still shook through my body. I hid my face in my knees and sniffled.

"Lauren?" I heard a sad sounding voice. I didn't look up, but I knew who the voice was. I heard the grass ruffle, and Kevin sat down next to me and put his hand on my shoulder. I growled under my breath, moving away. All I wanted right now was to be alone, and he was the last person I wanted to see.

"Piss off, Jonas," I spat. He didn't move. I shook his hand off my back. He seemed to ignore me, tilting his head to the sky and sighing.

"I like coming up here to think when I'm upset," he said in a dreamlike state, looking at the sky. My throat was dry. My chest felt hot and tight and I wanted to cry. But I held it back. I looked over at him.

"Get [i]away[/i] from me," I snapped harshly, shoving him. He still didn't move. He looked at me with sad, bloodshot eyes.

"I'm sorry for earlier," he said softly. "I didn't mean to be so mean, I'm just.....stressed latley. I feel really bad."

"Get. Away. From me," I hissed through clenched teeth, standing up.

"Lauren!" Kevin cried, rising. He grabbed my shoulders and turned me around to face him.

"I accept your apology, okay? Just leave. Please, just go." I said tearily. I turned away, wiping my sleeve across my face to pick up the tears that were now falling again. My body tremorred again, and my legs almost collapsed under me. I inhaled deeply, steadying myself and wiping the tears. I would not let Kevin see me cry.
