our teachers are still going strong with giving us assignments and stuff like that. i mean, the day before finals start, i have two projects and four term paper due. blah
Of course you know the story. I hadn't until I looked it up. I believe it's just as important to know about than the Eiffel Tower or the Leaning Tower of Pisa or .... well you get my point.
I usually don't use !s either. Not unless I'm really, really hyper or I'm quoting something (which I do a lot sometimes).
Yeah, it probably was luck. By the time we got to Lithuania the rain must have decided to blow over.
I think the Hill of Crosses was really cool. It's like -- all these crosses and Jesus?!
We got a crack out of the statue of "Big Jesus."
I Wikipedia-ed HoC one time and learned that the Soviets had tried to bulldoze it over when they were in power. But all the crosses and rosaries and things kept coming back. That's sort of tells me about the people. Persistent.
Well...I'm not as bad as some.
When I started learning all of the countries in school around 4th grade, I remembered Lithuania was "by Russia and that sea" and in "E. L. L." -- in alphebetical order.
Good luck! I think learning an instrument is one of the best things in the world..... I always get so sad when the kids I mentor say they're going to quit the instrument cause there's so many wonderful things you can learn and do....
I'm entering my 3rd year in high school and I really am not excited for that. :[ I heard there's this really horrible teacher, and she's gonna be teaching us Pre-Cal and Statistics. Ugh.
It's summer over here and boy is it hot in here. The rainy season is coming soon along with the new school year so I'm looking forward to that. Not school, just the rain. Lol :] I'm kind of dreading my junior year here. -sighs-
Sorry for being all !!!!!! on you. I don't really like exclamation points because they're like "you there....be exclamatory or happy or angry".
I don't like punctuation that makes you feel like you have to do something. =D
I liked Lithuania just fine. It wasn't raining there quite as much as it did when we -- my tour group -- were in Germany and the Czech and Poland. I really loved the Hill of Crosses; that was just sort of amazing.
And you're right about Lithuania not being well-known. (I'm glad I learned more about your country than just "oh...it's that country between Latvia and Poland and by Russia and the sea.") Most people had heard of the other countries I went to, but Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania sort of got left out. It's a shame that happened, too, because I really liked those three. I think the older generation here (I'm in the United States if you didn't already know.) might not know so much about them because they were part of the Soviet Union for a while.
I'm a proud member of the Dorchestra...... I've played the violin for (almost) ten years.... (As well as five other instruments, but not nearly for as long....) and our final is always the spring concert.
You still have a month left of school? I think I would die with that much school left! xD I only have a week and two days left and I'm still going crazy!
Oh and I'm from the Philippines. :) It's a small country, too. But, the islands are greatly separated by large bodies of water, so yeah, not much unity in here.
Hi! I see you're from Lithuania. :D That's so awesome. I have a friend who lives there. I just don't know the exact location. Wouldn't it be just creepy if I asked him his address? I'm glad I didn't....
...sorry, I babble a lot. I'm Maria by the way. :D
