Books should be pretty safe though, right? I think it's mostly electronics, collectibles, and clothing that you have to watch out for. But not so much clothing. It's really just that you should try it on in person. (I ordered a swimsuit online once, and it doesn't fit very well up top, if you know what I mean. I keep falling out.)June 30th, 2008 at 06:53am

I've only read one book so far this summer, Raven Rise. It's the latest in the Pendragon series, which is my absolute favorite. I have three books I need to read for school this summer: Portrait of a Young Artist, David Copperfield, and Cat's Eye. I may also have to read some books for French next year. If so, I'm going to have to figure out how to get those! I don't know where I can buy French books!June 24th, 2008 at 12:17am

House of Spirits is about three generations of women. The first, Clara, is psychic and can see the future and move objects with her mind and communicate with ghosts. She marries a wealthy but abusive man. Her daughter, Blanca, falls in love with a revolutionary whom her father hates and eventually gets knocked up by him. Her daughter, Alba, gets even further involved in the revolution and fights for the rights of the common man. The book is way better than the movie. It's by Isabel Allende. You should definitely read it.June 21st, 2008 at 04:26am

Oh, was it good? I thought it looked pretty stupid, but then again, I haven't seen a kid's movie in a long time. My sister is a nanny, so I usually just let her pre-screen everything for me. xD
I died laughing while watching House of the Spirits. (which has Antonio Banderas. *drool*) Thankfully, my friends were laughing too. It's a really serious movie, but we all thought it was hilarious at the most random parts, like when one of the characters witnesses her sister's autopsy.June 18th, 2008 at 10:01pm -
yeah, thats kinda what happened, cuz i got the exam and i was like f*ck, this is easy it wasn't even on the stuff i studied.June 18th, 2008 at 08:22pm

It's pretty embarrassing to be the only one laughing, but sometimes you just can't help it. I've gotten some nasty glares over the years. Some day, they'll all know my name as one of the best sappy romance novelists!June 18th, 2008 at 05:55pm

I love reading sappy books and watching sappy movies. Whenever I go to a movie like that, I'm always the only one in the theater laughing hysterically. People stare.June 15th, 2008 at 05:17am

school gets out about the 20th i think.
so just five more days of hell and ill be good for the summer.June 13th, 2008 at 08:26pm -
It's by Jamie Carie. I want to buy it and read the entire thing.
I know what you mean. I think you mean that you think the plot is too stupid to become a story, but once again, stupider plots have been turned into books and movies. Sometimes I look at the crap out there and wonder how I could NOT get something published some day.June 11th, 2008 at 09:11pm -
well i wouldn't really know, cuz summer hasn't really begun yet...i'm still in classes for a while, and homework is still going on. soooo.....i haven't had the time to be super bored yet.
but i need to find a hobby for the summer, any suggestions?June 11th, 2008 at 07:22pm -
Nothing is hopeless and silly. As I was telling Bloody.rain.drops, there are a whole lot of published books that are hilariously over-dramatic. Snow Angel is the one I recommended to her. I'm sure nothing you could come up with is as hopelessly silly as that.June 10th, 2008 at 06:30am

it def ly is lol
but anyways how are you?June 10th, 2008 at 02:06am -
You could be a producer some day and get someone else to write it for you. You should at least write your story ideas down. Maybe you'll come back to them some day and make something out of them!June 9th, 2008 at 09:42pm

that has gotta stink to have one of your friends move away. okay, now i'm sad.
so besides that how are you?June 5th, 2008 at 08:23pm -
Point of view really depends on the tone of the story I guess. 3rd person can be better if you want to switch from one character's point of view to another's, and it also can be better for a certain amount of suspense (because you don't know what everyone is thinking). First person can have more voice and personality to it, but I've found it to be a challenge to remember that I'm ALWAYS in the character's head, not just narrating.
As far as starting... I don't know. With a bang. Something attention-grabbing, unexpected, suspenseful, funny, whatever. It just has to get the reader's attention.June 1st, 2008 at 03:51am
