I'm trying to write chapter 7 of my most active story, but people keep floating in and out of my workspace. It's driving me crazy!

I've been driving my US-born mother crazy al day by replacing her American words with British ones. Bin lorry, humour, boot, biscuit, wanker, the like. She hates it when I sound like the proud Englishwoman I am-she thinks my words and my accent make her seem "trashy". Trashy? I don't know why my accent makes her seem trashy, but whatever. I think it makes me sound posh, even though I'm guilty of a slight Cockney :]

I moved to Southern California, of all the places to go...I could've moved to New Jersey, but Mum insisted we go back to her homeland. Dad was upset-he wanted to stay in England. So did I. He ende up divorcing my mom just so he could go back.

Me: "TAKE ME WITH YOU!"

But, that never happened. Oh well. >_>
